Okay y’all, I’m soooo close to giving up breastfeeding. I breastfed my first for a year and a half, but she wasn’t strictly breastfed, she was formula fed too, but my youngest (2 weeks) literally uses me as a pacifier pretty much allllll day and I’m so over it. I know breastmilk is the best thing for your baby but my babies are so different from each other I don’t know if I want to continue. Send me words of encouragement please 😩☹️

@saraann it is exhausting. Especially with a two year old around you. I understand that. But were sooo lucky to have this ability to nurse our precious ones and give them all of our warmth and love. All this is so worth it. I have my precious one curled up on my chest right now and all i can think about is how happy and in love i am 💕

@phoebesmommy, I supplemented in the beginning a little bit because my milk took forever to come in, so I know she’ll take a bottle, but my boyfriend works during the day so it’s just me at home but I could probably pump and have him feed her when he comes home from work! Lol

@saraann, it goes by so fast. TBH I didn’t enjoy nursing as much with my second bc I had a toddler just like you. They’re exactly 2 yrs apart. The first year of my youngest’s life was pretty tough and stressful. Thankfully she was a very fast and efficient nurser. Has she taken a bottle? Do you have anyone who could give her a bottle and give you a break? (Like pumping is easy with a toddler and newborn lol)

@phoebesmommy, @vvrobinson,
She nurses like a champ and latched immediately after birth. I don’t have any pain, my nipples aren’t chapped and scabbed thankfully, its just tiring because she’s alwayyyyyssss nursing and I feel like I can never catch a break. I loved the bond I had with my first! And I want the same with this baby, but I’m just tired. I’m gonna tough it out though, you guys made me realize that it’ll be worth it.
Thank you both so much!

Also OP, breastfeeding is wonderful and all but you may not feel that “amazing bond” and that is OK. I do promise it does get easier though. As long as her latch is good, no tongue tie, etc.

I totally feel your pain!!! It’s so hard the first few weeks but I PROMISE you, it does get easier. One day you’ll look back and wonder when the pain stopped. Chapped and scabbed nipples all of it will be the past.

She is building up your supply and you are exactly what her body needs. It will regulate soon. 2 weeks is sooooo soon. Dont lose heart mama!

Breastfeeding is the most incredible and intimate thing ONLY YOU can do with your baby. Nobody can replace the bond that you form when nursing. Its not easy. You have a 2 week old whos going through cluster feeding and a growth spurt. Yes your nipples hurt and your tired of having the boob out but you wanted this precious baby. What could be more special than feeling them on your chest all day? Think about the positives and think about the benefits to your baby. Do not give up, itll get better.
