Sadly the majority of the time they have to learn through experience. I'm sure once she realizes what's going on she'll try to reconnect with you.

@racing.88, it really does suck I have like all of 2 friends and they work all the time also so I never see them my sister spends a good amount of time hanging around with her nieces and what not but I just can’t do it anymore , I go out of my way all the time for her and get her things my mom can’t and she’s just so disrespectful. So I don’t even care nomore.

It sounds like she's really forcing things in this relationship because she's head over heels for the guy. Being 17 and starry eyed is a world of its own lol.

Be patient. She'll come around eventually.

@alyboo102293, my sister is 22 her boyfriend is on meth like so bad his own baby momma is so blinded by it that he still gets his child.... and he’s completely turned my sister against our whole family.. she talks to my kids but they hadn’t seen her in so long they don’t know who she is anymore.. she’s drinking it’s so out of control.... and it breaks my heart when I see her st work or something... cuz I want to help her but I can’t...

@deborahjq, well I wish that were all true but one minute she’s screaming I don’t care about him he ain’t my man 🙄. & the next she’s defensive about what people say 😂👎🏽. Like he gave her some kinda disease last week didn’t wanna tell my mom so I had to buy her meds😑. Oh and y’all guessed it he didn’t give her that either 😂😂🤷🏼‍♀️ a ghost did.

@racing.88, yeah she’s headed down that same path , he pops pills, dropped out , couch surfing, no job at 19. I thought for a while she was trying to get pregnant because for some reason she kept putting off her birthcontrol app at the doctor but I made sure to take off work to take her because yeah he’s brainwashing her. She calls my mom every name under the sun tells her to fuck off she’s a dumb ass & my mom just takes it , I literally don’t see why my mom allows it but I can’t make her do anything because every time my mom tries my sister “tries to kill herself”. 😫😒

@alyboo102293 oh sweet Jesus 😳 there's only so much you can do for someone who clearly is just in it for the drama -- even at the risk of her own health. The hardest thing to do is to watch someone you used to have a connection with self destruct.

I'm going through this with my younger cousin. She's 20, still hasn't finished high school, doesn't even have her drivers license, broke up with her longtime boyfriend to be with some fuckboy and then just complains/defends the fuckboy and her awful decisions. It's so frustrating. I've seriously considered just cutting her off because I'm just about done with her snotty attitude.

I know how you feel bc I'm the oldest and I hate to see my siblings heartbroken. But you have to just listen and not say anything and trust me, she'll stop telling you dumb ish. She'll learn on her own.... Just like we do! But you don't want to lose your sister bc of voicing your opinion about who she deals with. She's gonna come to you one day and say, "Sis I should've listened!" bc you are 100% right about everything you said.
