@em.schultz0, so. He slept in the crib all night with just a few feedings. I am blown away. He didn’t even cry or anything. Does my baby not love me?! Haha jk.

@em.schultz0, I’m probably gonna have some nights where he’s gonna sleep in my arms while I’m at the relatives and parents for holidays etc lol

@carusod91, I did find it hard. He’s 2.5 now so I’ve pushed bedtime to 7:30. I usually try to have people come over here so I can continue with his routine. He still naps once a day too and I don’t like to miss his nap lol. It was easier for me though because I was off work for his entire first year of life

@em.schultz0, do you find it’s hard to go out then with that bedtime ? Like just for family functions etc. I feel like we’d never leave the house lol

@em.schultz0, ok I’ll try that! He currently goes to bed too late because he wants to sleep with me but he’s becoming way too active so it’s not safe. Gonna start training him tonight ! Eek

@em.schultz0, what if he goes to bed at 9pm and sleeps till 9am? And gets his 12 hours that way??

@carusod91, it’s just better for their age so they aren’t going to bed overtired and they get their full 12 hours of sleep. It isn’t easy, I won’t lie. I cried a lot myself, but it won’t be forever and you’re giving him the gift of sleep. My baby was so much happier once he was sleeping better

@em.schultz0, is there a reason for the 7pm bedtime??

My heart is gonna break when he cries and I leave him :(

@carusod91, yes he cried. The first night it was 45 minutes of crying, but I was right beside him from night 1-3 so I felt better about it because I was able to comfort him a little. Sleep consultants recommend a 7pm bedtime, but you gotta do what’s best for you! When he would fall asleep I would leave the room and whenever he would wake up, I would wait 10 whole minutes of uninterrupted crying before going back in and repeating the process again.

@em.schultz0, how long did it take for him to fall asleep by himself? Did he cry? My son legit likes to go to bed at midnight 🙄 I’m hoping to do a 9pm bedtime. works best with our lifestyle

@carusod91, We used the ‘sleep lady shuffle’ method. Make sure you make his crib very boring, get black out blinds and a noise machine and start doing a consistent bedtime and nap time routine so that he knows sleep is imminent. It only took two days before he was falling asleep independently and sleeping great chunks of time. I continued to feed during the night though but made sure I kept him awake and put him back in his crib awake.

@em.schultz0, Im gonna begin sleep training my son tonight as he’s becoming too active for my bed and I’m worried it’ll become unsafe. How’d you sleep train in two days? Tips ? He loves to cuddle 😢

Set up the crib and sleep train him. We sleep trained at 4 months. It took two days.

@avianlouiebos, haha yeah he’s so used to you. My son is the same. When he’s about 6-7 months, I plan to try to sleep train him. Not looking forward to that but He’s starting to move too much in the bed even when sleeping and I worry he’ll fall off or something.

My son sleeps with me at night time. I find he wakes up a lot during the night if he’s in his crib. He probably just wants to be in your arms right now but you don’t like it, so it’s tough. Once he’s a bit more independent and crawling etc, it’ll get easier

Do you have a rock in play? Automatic ones can rock him for you
