Did anyone have a bad epidural which caused a permanent pain and then had a natural birth with their 2nd?

I did. I had permanent nerve damage for around 10 years that finally subsided and then just gave birth 3 months ago via induction. It took 34hrs all up and after 11 hrs of active labour I had to have the epidural again and have had no problems this time around.

@theremyeverything that's great, I regret getting an epidural with my daughter, it was mostly because I was feeling really pressured into it. The nurses kept telling me I couldnt do it without and I was super insecure and nervous because it was my first baby

@savvysmom it happened for me cause the pain was alot but with my 2nd son my oldiest was my support whole way thru god bless his lil soul

I had a bad experience with my first! It only numbed my left thigh and I felt the birth. But my second it worked and I felt nothing!🙌🏻 i was terrified to try it again though since it hurt so bad getting it the first time.

I tried so hard not to have anything and was adamant that I wasn't going to get the epi, I went with nothing for about 9hrs of active labour then decided I'd give the gas a try as I was in so much pain and a few hours later I decided I was going to get the epi. As I said from start of induction to finish was 34hrs so I had just had enough. It took me so long to dilate having contractions the whole time, I was just over it. The doctor that did it this time though did a great job! I could still slightly feel my legs and was able to push easily when the time came and all the feeling in my legs came back while they were weighing bub and then we had skin to skin for a bit. Definitely a much better experience than the first time! I went and had a consult with an anethisist prior to my induction date to discuss my options and had the all clear if I needed one. Maybe ask for an appointment with one if possible?
