When do you start potty training because everywhere ive read says 18+ months but my mums convinced thats a relatively new idea and they had us on pottys at 6 months onwards... no idea now!
My oldest was potty trained the month after he turned 2. (We tried earlier but he wasn’t fully ready) He’s just turned 3 and isn’t dry at night yet but there are days that he is. Was very tricky potty training a child that couldn’t talk, though!
@muslimmom_x What made u do it at that age... like what made u feel he was ready xx
@genieh Hahaha.... tell me about it!!
And omg that's so good... I'll pick on up tommrow so he can get used to one being around xxx
We got Erica a potty a few weeks ago and she usually goes 💩 at around the same times everyday so she’s done a poo and today she kept pointing at her nappy and so I sat her on it and she did a wee straight away- couldn’t believe it! Definitely not potty training though I think it’s a good idea to have one around and get them to sit on it etc just so when it’s time to train them it’s not a new scary thing to them. I’m 25 and nearly wet myself every now and then so how anyone can expect a 6month old baby to have control is crazy😂 xx
@laurabump27, he's been potty Day trained since about April now, with no accidents as of lately. I bought a potty around December time and just had it out for him to see and to get used to it, praised him if he sat on or treats if he did wees or poos on it.
I slowly started noticing he'd go and hide before doing his poos, or when in the bath he'd stand up so he can watch himself wee. So he knew he needed it before he did it. So just slowly introduced the potty. He now just goes on the toilet with legs apart to balance his weight xx
@arlosmomma awww where did u get that from? So he's been in it a few times? Xxx
@em90 Yes I've read its about 2yrs onwards so 6 months seemed very early xx
@kayteamay Yes that's true they are all different... I might buy one ready and if he's curious just let him have a look. It's hard to know when your doing it for the first time xx
@3kidsandkat Yes thats right i guess... he was nappiless in the house and cried to let us know he wanted a wee so that's why my mum said that. Xx
Arlo has a potty he likes sitting on it watching peppa and he seems to get its for when he wants a 'wee wee' or a poo, managed it a few times cant harm them getting them used to one xx
Sophia was just after her 2nd birthday and was toilet trained. All kids are different and will let you know when their ready xxx
My oldest didn't show signs at all but I started at 3 yrs and he still isn't night trained but he has GDD and possibly autistic. My youngest will be 3 in September and will attempt it this summer hols as he starts nursery in Jan so ideally would be nice for him to be trained but no big deal if not.
My son is 2yrs & 6 months.
We started potty training about 3 weeks ago,I thought it was going to be a struggle as he hardly talks but he picked it up really quickly and he was taking himself to the potty in his own after 2 days. (Still has nappies at night) we trying to get the day sorted first. But you spot the signs on when to potty train. My son start pulling his nappy off after he had pooped! And pulling at his nappy saying wet x
Every child is different. I couldn’t imagine training a 6mo! Lola is 2 and a half and we’ve only just started.
My little boy is Day trained and is 2years and 9 months. He sometimes will wake in the night crying to go for a wee (wearing nappies and baby gates in for safety)and then dry in the morning. But every morning he is desperate for a wee soon as he wakes up, so he's definitely learning xx
My son is 3 in October and has no idea where as my daughter was fully potty training ed day and night by 2 and half. It’s just when your child is ready there isn’t a set age also there all different
Just got my one month old to pee AND poop in the potty ☺️ #godiaperfree

Potty Training *Updated*
Why is there such a push to do it so early?

Charlie is 18 months and quite clever with picking things up that he sees once!
I.e he rips toilet paper off pretends to wipe his bum then flush it 😂
I'm wanting to start to introduce him to the potty... but how do i do it?
I literally have no idea about potty training!!!! Help!!!
Also, youngest one is definitely showing signs, but isn’t ready yet
