Where’s a good place to move to raise kids North Carolina or South Carolina ?

I live in Charlotte NC and the public schools suck imo. My kids and niece are currently in charter school (finally found one I love) which is wayyyy better than public schools here but it still has it's drawbacks, and it takes time to find the right one. But a neighboring county that my friends kid goes to doesn't have this problem.... HOWEVER, I am considering homeschool and in that case...theres soooo much to do here that's educational and fun for kids outside of a school. My sis and I always have our kids in something or take them to some sort of event here, many of them either free or low cost.
