My 20 month old has randomly started falling a lot, bonked her head twice and busted her lip a little in the past 3 days.
I was watching her this evening and she repeatedly kept falling every few steps. Not normal for her lately, we haven’t had any falls in a long time until this week.
Something’s definitely off and I’m calling her dr tomorrow to have her seen.
My mom (who’s a nurse and was in peds) is thinking it could be an ear infection because of the balance issues.
Anyone else have input on this? She’s never had an ear infection and has been barely been sick for that matter, not that it makes a difference.
I’m just new to the world of sick kiddos. I know ear infections can be sneaky. I had them all the time as a baby and had tubes.
But she hasn’t touched her ears or anything so it’s hard to say.
Should I be asking her dr any specific questions besides the obvious?

Yeah no ear infection. So just the toddler learning to walk I guess lol.
She had a bad fall the other day and my husband thinks maybe she lost her confidence in walking after that for a bit (was walking/running normal today). So don’t know for sure but at least she’s back to being crazy 🤷🏼♀️
I’m sure she’s learning to walk, my little guys busted so many falls I’m surprised he’s still walking! It’s definitely a lack of balance but it’s cause they’re learning. Wait till they are trying to run. New balancing technique

Depends sometimes drs don’t treat ear infections with medication my oldest had one ear infection as a baby that was treated with drops and medication by mouth
My girl never pulled her ears or ran fever. It seemed all of a sudden she would stop sleeping at night and be fussy some. Myself as a child had a busted ear drum and my mom never realized it. Maybr something like that is going on?? Glad ur getting her checked out!
@iwannaplay, that’s what my mom was saying too. She’s been a little more irritable, which is definitely not her personality.
If it is an ear infection, is it just ear drops they give?
First thought is ear infection it’s the most common reason for balance issues.
I have a one year old with lices and i didnt now some girls she was playing with had them and now she has some i dont now if i should take her so i can get medicine for the lies and i just check her and she has a alot and it bothers me that she straches her self ... has any one had a problem what can i use ??

So Calyssa has a major ear and throat infection that I would have known nothing about if I didn’t bring her to the doctors yesterday regarding fever she had 😔🙄 the doctor was shocked I didn’t realize she has an ear infection because it’s that bad and she hasn’t been crying or pulling at her ear or any weird stuff 😒so now she on antibiotics for 10 days ugh

@julybaby2016, Crazy right? I didn’t know either until my mom was telling me way back when she was tiny tiny, how common ear infections are and what the symptoms could be.
