Everytime we leave my mother in laws its around nap time and my kid crys and screams bloody murder. She wants to stay there and my mother in law will try to get me to leave her there! I have to say no, over and over. I feel like a bad guy and that my daughter hates me! Are all my kids going to hate me like this.!?

No not at all! The thing with 2.5 year olds is that they are at a stage where they know what they want but find it hard to communicate. When we have to leave places that my daughter is enjoying I have to approach it in a way in which she will understand. For example; I ask her do you want to see daddy? If you do we have to leave now so we can see him and give him a big hug. If that doesn’t work I try other things. Eventually she will cave and be happy to go home.

@tnsad I've done the same in the past and it has worked the problem is that she knows it's her nap time and doesnt want to go to sleep, she wont nap or sleep anywhere but home or the car

That’s normal for a 2.5 year old. You have to bribe her. Have a snack ready in the car or tell her she can do a certain activity when you get home. That means delaying her nap for 30 minutes to allow for the activity or leave grandma’s 30 mins earlier. Don’t leave exactly at nap time. I don’t think there are any toddlers out there that will willingly leave grandma’s to take a nap lol 😂
