The actual water breaking doesn't feel like anything but a gush of fluid. The contractions may knock you on your butt though!

@jessig2006, Would you say contractions hurt more when the doctor breaks your water or when it breaks on it’s own?

@mommyofaqueen with my first my water broke at home and I didn't feel the contractions until I was given pitocin. With my second I had contractions before my water broke. I got the epidural when I got to the hospital because I wanted to just enjoy the birth and my doctor had to break my water at the hospital so I didn't feel a thing then either. As soon as my doctor broke my water I dilated to 10 and I had to push. He was out in less then 5 minutes.

It doesn’t hurt and it does not come from the pee hole it comes from the vagina and it’s a big gush well mines was but the contractions after that water breaks are way more intense

I felt like I had to pee. Stood up and it broke. And then I said. Nvm. 😂😂😂

@mommyofaqueen, I was already at the hospital and called the nurse and she’s like are you sure it was your water? I was like yeah I’m standing in a puddle.
