Oh- And eve. If your eggs turn out to be "poor" quality, they can be improved during ripening. Coq10, femera, fsh shots can all improve the quality during the ripening process.

Actually, new studies (all over the press in 2012 show women likely continue to make new eggs through their reproductive lives. So I don't think anything is over. I have a friend who has 1 daughter without any medical assistance at 49 & the girl is very healthy. It just gets harder & chances go down. We develop our eggs during early foetal development. So when we are born our eggs are fully formed, ready for when we start to menstruate.

Our egg supply is therefore finite and are all as old as us. As we age, our eggs do too, which is why after about the age of 30/35 it becomes harder to conceive. It sounds like your doctor is saying that yours are plentiful, but haven't aged well. Your body can't produce anymore, so you'll need a healthier donor egg if you want to conceive. HTH

I was told that egg quantity and quality are not the same, but low quantity can indicate poor quality. But age is only a predictor of quality, it's not definitive. Some very young women have poor quality eggs and older women can have good quality eggs.

I don't understand why they aren't hopefully about this pregnancy though. I hope your bub proves them wrong!
