Just trying to gather my own stats because I'm freaking out about my age and if I'll ever get pregnant and carry a baby to term.

I will be 40 next month and am due in September with my second baby. My son just turned 19 last month and this baby was a complete surprise. So far I have had no complications but we'll see when it comes time to deliver :-)

Age if a HUGE factor, especially after age 40. The majority of our eggs have chromosome abnormalities. But there's something we can do! There's evidence that taking 25mg DHEA 3 times a day for at least 12 weeks increases the number of normal eggs. I also did acupuncture once a week during that time. After 6 ivf cycles which included a m/c due to trisomy 18, I got pregnant and am 28 weeks with a healthy girl on try #7! I'm 38 years old with a FSH of 6.6 and AFC of 20. My husband has severe male factor, hence the ivf.

39 years of age at 15 weeks pregnant. We tried for 2 years to find out my husband has Klinefelter's syndrome. Therefore, after my abdominal myomectomy a few months back, we decided to use donor sperm for my first IUI without medication. Also, I have a blocked fallopian tube.

I am 40 yrs old and 34 wks pregnant. This is my 3rd. Yes, age can be a factor. If you successfully conceive, it takes a much harder toll on your body than if you were in your 20's or 30's. But worth it!! I say keep trying!
I conceived naturally and it only took a couple of weeks. My sister in law conceived at 45 after her second attempt of invetro. My nephew is now 5 and totally healthy ;)

We started ttc for the first time in June 2010 (I was 40). We got pregnant twice within the first 6 months, but lost both in the first few weeks. This third time seems to be working out. I'm nearly 14 weeks and everything looks good. I'll be almost 42 a few weeks after my EDD (Jan 22) and my dh is 44. It was not difficult for us to conceive and we are optimistic about having more than one. I say go for it!! Good luck✨

I started TTC for first time at age 40 (in November) - charted my cycle, took DHA & prenatals, & got acupuncture once a week. 5 months later, I got pregnant. I had CVS at 11 weeks- no chromosomal abnormalities. I'm 17 weeks pregnant with a baby boy & very excited to meet my little Christmas Cookie.

I conceived naturally (and quite surprisingly) at 39 and I have to say this has been a very easy pregnancy so far. This is my first so i can't compare to a 20-30 age pregnancy, but I've had no ms, no bleeding, no cramping. Genetic screening came back less than 1 in 4000 for chromosome issues. Baby is growing at expected rates, kicking the heck outta me since 20w. So far no swelling, no backaches, etc. Despite my age things have been VERY smooth and I'm oh so grateful.
Pregnancy @ 40+ is not as impossible as it once was.

I'm 40, TTC 2 months before we got pregnant. Nuchal results came 1:1400 something so we opted not to do further invasive testing. Now 34 weeks and everything is looking normal ad far as blood tests/ baby's weight/measurements etc.

I am 41, pregnant with my second and it was a surprise. I'm a little more tired but otherwise a healthy pregnancy and I'm due in 29 days. Best of luck to you!

I'm 40 and pregnant with #2. #1 came 3.5 years ago as a surprise so we were again surprised when we couldn't conceive #2. After two years, we got help and did one IUI. I'm now 37 weeks and delivering in five days due to high risk issues.

I don't think it's such new thing either. My great grandma had her last@ 42, and that was like in 1938. I'm sue she had no extra help.

42 and 5 weeks pregnant... I have a healthy 12-year-old daughter and I miscarried at 9 weeks when my daughter was 4 years old. So far this pregnancy is going well though I'm exhausted. My biggest fear besides another mc is Downs... The odds go up dramatically over age 40... Crossing my fingers everything comes out okay but I will love my baby regardless.
