I feel like I’m the only weirdo excited for breastfeeding and pumping. I felt so robbed of the experience with my first that I’m determined to have a good set up to enjoy it and bond with my baby when she’s here. But all I hear are negative things and how I shouldn’t get my hopes up since I only made it to about 7 months last time.

Oh and stay away from pumping in the beginning unless you’re going to be away from baby!

I could totally relate! With my daughter, I was forced to be an exclusive pumper and after 6 months I just gave up because it was taking a toll on me mentally. Anywhooo, my son is exclusively breastfed at 8 months! I didn’t pump till he was 7 months and that’s just because I need to build up a bigger stash. I did however use a haakaa, I strongly suggest one!! I started using it once he was about a month. I would put it in the opposite side he would nurse and get at least an oz or two each time. I was so scared this time, but we’re doing just fine. The bond I have with him is absolutely amazing, I can’t even describe it. Everyone’s experience is different so definitely don’t overthink the ones who have something negative to say. Educate yourself as much as possible and stay away from herbal supplements! You got this mama 💪🏼there’s a few breastfeeding groups on here, and honestly they have helped me soooo much! There’s also “la leche league” who offer free Lactation consultants, I’m iffy about the wic ones because of the experiences I’ve had. Don’t be embarrassed to ask 1000 questions or request for one through your hospital once you have baby! Oh, another thing that helped was not buying any “just in case” formula. The baby will nurse 24/7 sometimes and many of us think it’s not enough but they know what they are doing. Please don’t hesitate to ever message me if you’re having any issues, I’ll try to help the best that I can ❤️ good luck and congrats!

@_sheriee, my daughter had a tongue tie and at the time we were stuck with a military hospital that didn’t want to do anything about it. It was so painful to actually breastfeed that I became an exclusive pumper and that was extremely stressful to me.

Before I better comment, may I ask what stopped you at 7 months last time?

@jessig2006, I ended up an exclusive pumper by the end due to a tongue tie. Which causes latch issues and me not knowing I started pumping pretty much after birth so I had an over supply. But I’m really hoping this time I can just breast feed and only pump for when others want to feed her or I need to be away for whatever reasons.

Girl 7 months is fantastic! I wanted to breastfeed in the worst way! Our first son couldn't latch well and I dried up at 2 weeks 😭 our second son did great but I went back to work at 7 weeks and dried up by 2 1/2 months. I just didn't have the time I needed to pump to keep up. My plan this pregnancy is to start pumping as soon as I'm cleared to so I can increase my supply enough to make it longer. Hoping it does the trick!

Thank you ladies! I’m so determined to make it to at least a year this time. I’m in a less stressful environment and have more help this time around as well. So here’s to hoping it all goes smoothly 😊

Each kid I have I make it longer and longer. 1st was 6 weeks, 2nd was about 8 months, 3 was 14 month. Be proud! Stay focused and you can do it!

7 months is a big deal love! I only made it 8 months with my daughter and I loved every minute of it. 💕 Some mom's can't make it a week because of many reasons but they are still happy with what they got. Being prepared a head of time is a good thing also though it won't allow you to make it a year or longer. It's just something that happens or not. But good luck either way! I can't wait to experience it again in the future. 😍

What?! Don't get discouraged. Doubting the process is the biggest factor in that failure. Be positive and know you will succeed this time because you want to.
