Idk who my son thinks he is lol. So with my daughter when she was born all I did was hold her when she was awake when she was sleep pretty much all the time so, I decided this time I wasn’t going to spoil my son all like that of course he’s still going to get spoiled just not as much because of all the things I’m dealing with now with my daughter but anyways my son’s usually in his crib sleep or awake but for some reason today he just wants to be held I was putting my daughter down for her morning nap and this boys having a whole tantrum cause he wants to be held I picked him up finally and this is what he’s doing 😂

@nlock, independence is a developmental milestone. They’ll reach it when they’re ready. You’re taking about a 1 yr old, she should be independent. Children aren’t born grown adults. They need nurturing, touch and love. They will grow in their own time. Some are needier than others. Punishing your son and not providing for his needs because your daughter is needier emotionally will backfire on you.

@ladyblauvelt.skysmomma, that’s exactly how my daughter is and that’s because when she was born I gave into her every cry I never let her cry for more than a minute I never taught her independence which is what I want my son to learn

I never used to hold my son whenever he made the slightest noise when he was an infant and he turned out just fine and very independent at that. Oh and he's happy too, but you give this child and inch and he'll take a mile. Give in to his every want and need and he'll try to walk all over you... 😑😅

@nlock, actually- you can’t. It’s proven through research and studies. Meeting their needs is not spoiling them. Some need more than others. Touch, comfort and emotional needs should be met just as much as food, clothes and diapers.

You can’t spoil a baby. Hug them, love on them, hold them. That’s a need not a want.
