@kyapowell1234, you’re welcome! i had so many questions too whenever i first started doing through the whole short cervix thing. i’m part of a few support groups on facebook just look up incompetent cervix group and they should pop up. it’s helped answer a lot of questions and all the women on there are going through or have been through the same thing
@kyapowell1234 I won't lie and deny that the cerclage hurt a bit. When they put it in you get a spinal so you don't feel anything there. But afterwards for a few days you are bloated and cramp so it's uncomfortable. But it's all worth it because it keeps the baby in.
@anything4salinas, yes he mentioned the stitches, I’m on bed rest right now and he mentioned pills, did the cerclage hurt ? we check again on July 2nd if it’s still getting shorter we have to figure out what we need to do
@kyapowell1234, and no not at all i didn’t even feel it. they give you a spinal and it took like 15 minutes for them to do it. sometimes now when my baby moves it’ll feel uncomfortable bc it feels like he hits it but other than that i can’t even tell it’s there

@kyapowell1234, oh ok. Sometimes people have their baby earlier because of a shortened cervix. But even then, I've seen everything be just fine in those situations. Sometimes there's a stay at the NICU but that's nothing to worry about. For now just do all the right things. Eat well, take your prenatal, etc. Things may not even happen that way. Even then, they could turn out fine! I had my baby at 30 weeks & 2.8 pounds and she was perfect from day one, just small, and now she's even better! So don't worry so much about what could happen wrong.💜 best of luck girl!
I have a short cervix so I have a cerclage in to keep it closed. Did your doctor mention doing anything like that or bed rest to keep it from getting shorter and/or dilating ahead of time?
at 20 weeks my cervix measured 2.8-2.9 after that they kept checking it and it kept getting shorter so i had to get a stitch called a cerclage at around 25 weeks and baby has been perfectly fine and holding in there ever since and i’m 32 weeks!
@unicorn_mama, I’m 21 Weeks I went for an anatomy scan and a transvaginal ultrasound around 19 weeks and they said my cervix was shorter than it supposed to be so now I go back every week
