Aria eats purees. I’ve tried soft foods and she gags. I’m not even worried about it.

If he's not ready then he's not ready. All babies meet milestones differently. It's recommended not to feed solids until 6 months but some babies require it a little earlier and are ready. I was feeding my son gerber stage 1 foods at 5 months as well as gerber cereal. He had cereal for breakfast and a fruit or veggie for lunch.

If he’s not ready don’t push him. My daughter wasn’t ready for any kind of food until 8mo old. Then at 8mo old we started baby led weaning and never had an issue. You needn’t push babe to grow up, they’re only this little once

I started jayden at 6 months and he didn’t like it so I didn’t push it ... he didn’t start to eat regular food till he was 11 Months

Nothing but breastmilk or formula should be offered until at least 6 months of age. It can cause gastrointestinal issues well into adulthood when any type of solids are started too soon. Those moms on facebook are doing a disservice to their children and I'm sure they don't even realize it. We have so much more information than our parents had access to about proper nutrition and child development. It is our responsibility to follow the recommendations being made to keep our babies safe and healthy.

My son REFUSED solids until about 10mo. Would not swallow anything. He's 4 now and i swear he's a vacuum!! Enjoy the baby period, it goes soo fast

@roguemommyofjx3, that’s what his dr recommended as well, but said we could just play around w/ flavors & stuff. & he has had absolutely no interest in anything at all lol i’ll prob try again in a month or two

@santistevanmommie, i’m not pushing! i’m just curious on how these 3 & 4 month olds are eating baby food & liking it but my baby has no interest at all lol

@yayacarrington, yeah his dr recommends it at 6 months but said we could play around w flavors. but this mom whose son was born only 5 days before my son fed her baby waffles blueberries & yogurt. like her baby doesn’t even have any teeth to eat the waffles & why would you give a 5 month old whole blueberries?! i feel like she was doing it just for show, but still lol

@kartersmommyy, oh my bad! Honestly they’re probably forcing it a bit. And at that age they still have the reflex to push their tongue forward

@kartersmommyy, that’s called baby led weaning. Only you’re supposed to mash them with your thumb before giving them to babe

@kartersmommyy That hurts my heart a little. I hope that her baby doesn't have issues down the road. My youngest was perfectly content to exclusively breastfeed until he was 16 months old. 😭 He was late to starting solids because of a strong gag reflex and speech related issues. He is now a happy, healthy 5 year old boy and he eats everything in sight!

@yayacarrington, that makes me feel better! i don’t wanna push anything on my son. when he’s ready he’s ready, it just sucks that so many moms posts stuff about their babies & it’s hard not to compare bc they’re so close in age! but all babies are different & develop differently!
