When is a good time to introduce bottle to baby? My daughter is 5 weeks. I'm wanting to start pumping and having my so help with feedings because I just need some kind of break at least once a day... so I'm just wondering when a good time to introduce a bottle?? It won't be used often. I'm just conceded with nipple confusion and whatnot.

Anytime. I started my daughter using Dr brown bottles with premie nipples. It's very good for gas and slow flow

According to my LC, there is no such thing as nipple confusion. Some babies end up preferring the bottle because it’s easier to get the milk. To avoid this have your SO feed her so that she’s as close to sitting up as possible and have him hold the bottle parallel to the floor. This keeps it from being too easy to get the milk & you can avoid her developing a preference. Also use a low flow nipple. My son always preferred breast over bottle. I started one bottle a day with him at around 6 weeks.

My sons pediatrician recommends we introduce bottle at 1 month old. I introduced it since day one with my second and at 3 days old with this one. No nipple confusions with either of them using avent bottles. If yoi wait too long there's a big chance baby will not want the bottle.

Do it asap. I waited too* long and then had a baby that refused to take a bottle. He's a year now and drinks from a sippy but the first half of his life was extremely tough. He had a pacifier since the day he was born and never had nipple confusion. He's just a boob guy.

We started at 3 weeks only because we had to supplement. My lo did well going back and forth. We used comotomo bottles and that may have helped. Just make sure to do paced feeding if you still want lo to latch and nurse. There are YouTube videos that show how to do it.

I do it asap as well. I have no interest in having an EBF baby without using bottles. Saves a fight!
