delivery room

So, with my first me and my fiance only wanted my mom in the room while my son was born but somehow his grandma and his mom ended up in the room as well. Nothing was said because me and my fiance were just more so focused on labor and me being in so much pain lol. Anyways. For this one, me and my fiance only want us in the room. I feel like my mom will be upset about it but I'm not exactly sure how to tell her?? I was thinking just sending everyone a group message and letting them know (everyone that was in the room last time) I'm just not sure how to tell her. Any advice?

It’s so funny you posted this . This is both my husband and I first . But we already know we want just each other in the delivery room

. I feel like it’s very intimate moment I want to share with just my husband . The more people the more opinions and more stress . I just don’t want to hurt my mom . I feel like the only one present for the birth shld be the people who created the baby . She’s just going to have to understand

Just tell her straight up. I told my mom and sister that I do not want anyone in the room with me, I want total peace and quiet. My last birth was just too noisy and I couldn't focus because I had my mom, his mom and my child's father and It was too much for me. I even told them that I do not want anyone else except her and my sister at the hospital, select people will be told to come visit the baby at home.

Try telling them in a positive way instead of negative...i.e. "We want to keep visitors at hospital limited but loved having you visit us last time. Our plan is to call you to come to hospital when we are in the recovery room so you guys can be the first to meet new baby". Then if they press more about the delivery room, tell them you want to be able to focus on the delivery and instructions from dr/nurses so you are waiting on visitors until after delivery.

What if you just call them AFTER baby is born to avoid the awkward conversation of not wanting them there? You could always just say things progressed so quickly you didn't have time to call them beforehand. Just a thought

"We really want to experience this moment together in an intimate way. Weve asked the doctor to have minimal staff as well. We love that y'all got to experience our first born with us. We love you all"

Kind of a thing.

We had my mom in the room for our first born, she brought my f@cking step dad in the room! I was going natural due to a heart problem, so i couldnt even f*** ing talk.

Our second, my daddy was in there with us and it was so wonderful. Im a huge daddies girl so having him there was like a comfort blanket and i was so relaxed.

Our third, it was just my husband and i.. totally different experience and it was so perfect. He held his baby girl first and i cried horribly because it was such a beautiful moment.

Do not feel bad, ITS YOUR FAMILY!! Do what you guys feel is best

I would just straight up tell them that you only want your husband in the room during labor and delivery. You can either ask them to wait in the waiting room until staff or husband comes to get them or ask them to wait until you call after delivery for visitors.

My friend just straight out told everyone she only wanted her husband in the room. It was just them two for both her kids. Her mom was upset and annoyed but she didn’t care. It’s about you two and all you have to say is that it’s a personal thing and you want to be able to experience with just the two of you. They may not understand but it’s you’re decision. You can also tell the dr who’s delivering your child to tell people that it’s only the two of you. That you want no one else in there and they will make sure no one tries to sneak in or say something.

I’ve only every had my husband and me in the labour ward. It’s a special time and I would hate to have anyone else interfere with that.
