Ok. So I need help ladies. This is dd's diaper pail. In our other house she had a really big room and we always had the door open so we could never smell it. And we had it this way for over a year.

And right now we have it in the bathroom with the fan on. Which is helping, but this bathroom is way too small to keep it in there all the time

Sprinkle baking soda in it? Buy a plug in air freshmen for the hall??

Backing soda and you can try rinsing the inserts put before putting them in the pail

Baking soda directly in the pail? Like on the diapers?? Or inside, under the pail liner?

Essential oil on the tag inside the bag helps too. I use lavender or tea tree oil. Just a couple drops.

Have u tried a lid? That's what we do

I put one of those arm and hammer baking soda pods in the bottom because I had a little stink, works perfect!

Ours has a lid. Garbage can we bought at walmart, comes with the step thingy to lift the lid. No smell:) We also don't use anything to help with containing the smell there is no need for it!

We use a solid pail with a flip up lid and put a scented smell absorber on the bottom.

Maybe you could whatever room door you have the pail in but put a baby gate up so the dogs can't get into it but it's still having an open pail.

I'd try baking soda too.

The dogs can jump the baby gate. Even the tall ones :/ and their bigger dog like to eat diapers and wipes (cloth and disposable ones)

we used to have a pail with a lid and it smelled SOOO bad that we switched to this. I might try it again tho.

I'm really afraid the baking soda will ruin the diapers. I'm really paranoid since I had to replace my ENTIRE stash :/

Thanks for all the advice ladies!!! :)

How would baking soda ruin them! I use it in my wash all the time.

I also sprinkle baking soda in my pail and it helps! And hasn't done anything to the dipes :)

We have our pail in a small bathroom and it does smell a little bit. I agree with rinsing the heavily soaked inserts before tossing in the pail. My mother in law will be in town next weekend and will be using this bathroom, I'm trying to figure out an alternative place to store the pail while she's here.

Baking soda with a little essential oil mixed in. I put it in an old seasoning shaker, fill it up with baking soda and add enough EO to have a smell. Peppermint and lavender is a good one to use :)

Hm...trying to think of other ways you could still keep a door open without the dogs getting into it. My inlaws had a dog that would eat diapers and wipes too. Our youngest dog will grab toilet paper etc out of the bathroom garbage so I keep that door closed too. That's crazy the dogs will jump the gate through. I know ours can jump over the gates but if they see them up they just deal with not going into whatever room the gates are blocking.

What about placing the pail in the bath tub or on top of the toilet? Placing the pail on a chair or something?

Before we moved I stored the spraypal in the pail too. :)

I used to sprinkle baking soda on our diapers too like pp's said but that was because it was getting warm/ hot in our house over the summer. Usually after I've sprayed a poo diaper or put the nighttime ones in the pail.

I've started sprinkling baking soda on the diapers and it really helps. Baking soda is extremely gentle and won't mess anything up.

Febreeze (if you like their stuff) makes an awesome odor eliminator that either sits on something or you stick to the wall. It has a disc with oil that you stick in it. Wiped out cat box smell. Would prob work on diapers too. The scent is pretty light if you don't have the disc in all the way.

Bumgenius has an odor remover spray. There are other companies that have odor control spray as well and I've heard awesome things about it!! You just spray the dirty diaper before you throw it in and it controls the smell.

I use bac out to spray the diapers with. It doesn't smell as bad today. Honestly I think it was the poopy sposie wipes we had in the trash. I forgot about them. Lol.

Could you crack a window a tiny bit in the bathroom? Are you spraying them before throwing them in the wet bag? Washing them every 2 days? also give the pail time to "breathe" and air out

There is no window in the bathroom. But we don't store them in there anyway. I wash every other day and I spray the poopy ones off and I spray bac-out on all of them.

We haven't had any issues the past couple of days. So I think we are ok :) I started using baking soda as the other ladies mentioned.

need suggestions.... So at work we have a drink thief. Any time we put a drink in the fridge it disappears. I swear I know who it is. So far he's taken drinks from everyone that works in the office, we even put a sign to not take anything you didn't pay for and wrote our names on the drinks. The person I think is taking them works out of the office so we never get to see who is drinking them.
