If your parents didn’t think it was important to take a young child to the doctor, even just for physicals, then I’d venture to guess you’re dealing with more than just “overprotective parents”. Say you’re going to the drug store for something and just take the test in the bathroom there, it only takes a few minutes and you can throw it out. Mom will never know. You really should see a doctor about your irregular periods though
