A nice woman on facebook shared her story with me about her daughters bottle feeding aversion and told me to read a book that really helped her. I’ve been binge reading since last night to find out that Madi 1000% has a bottle feeding aversion and it’s most definitely all my fault. Because I pressured her to eat to meet the daily requirements said by doctors and professionals, Madi developed an unpleasant feeling while eating because she knew she would be pressured to eat. I’m definitely upset about this and that I caused it, but I know it can be fixed. I’m glad I figured this out. Now I know it’s not the bottle, or the nipple, or even the formula

To be honest, just because a doctor suggests meeting certain requirements doesn't mean that's what is going to work. All babies are different and they eat when they are ready to... babies will let you know when they are hungry and that's when they will eat. My son started out every 3 hours but some days he'd go maybe 5 hours before he wanted to eat again and he ate as much as he wanted, I never forced him to eat a certain amount. I tried to follow the doctors requirements for him and that resulted in my son being very underweight and I was being told this by my mother and my sister a lot but I insisted it's what he was supposed to be eating... Eventually I decided to try baby led feeding, meaning I just let him tell me when he needed food instead of worrying so much about requirements and suggested amounts and he ended up gaining all his weight back and looked so much healthier. Yes it meant I introduced food earlier than 6 months but he needed it. You should just rely on her to tell you what she needs and when she needs it... Of course make sure she doesn't starve but don't force it either.

Hey, don’t get down on yourself like that. You wanted to make sure you were doing it right, and pushing what drs said you thought was best because why would they steer you in the wrong direction.
Don’t fault yourself too much mama. Being a mom is a learning experience.
