if shes still refusing to go perhaps wait a little longer but introduce her to peeing on the potty, tell her that where she goes to pee and tell her pee and poop stuff like that. my daughter about a month and a half ago was going in her potty and then suddenly just stopped not sure why but she knows how to pee how to flush and wipe so when shes ready she’ll start going again

@brookehayes585, o ok plus she still little so we will do this at her paste I’m not rushing at all I’m just curious how potty training works and want it to be fun for her I’m sad because she growing up and becoming a big girl we just want to be prepared for when she is ready or or how to have her understand when to go ect..

I would.let her get used to the little potty chair. When you go to the bathroom bring her with you and tell her when she needs to potty she goes there and she can sit down and see what she does, if she doesn't want to then just keep trying.

We rushed my now 3 year old only cause he showed signs and he actually started to train but now at 3 (as of april) We are still fighting accidents and he's still in diapers at night time and nap time (we know sleeping and being potty trained takes longer, my older daughter was 4 when night trained but my stepson night trained at 2)

Sit her on her little toilet and put books and her fav toys around her. Everyday sit her for about 10 minuets and motivate her to pee or poop. Everyday it’ll become easier but once she wakes up in the morning sit her down and do it as a daily routine so she can know that it’s something serious and it’s there to stay later she will transfer to the bigger toilet 😊

For my son I took his diaper off and let him run naked.... He found the potty and it was his choice.... When I try asking him to go or watch him go he doesn't like it..... Everything is on his terms and he is doing GREAT!! Poops and pees and his reward is getting to flush it down(his choice yet again!). For us, having it in the living room is more convenient and since he spends more time in there playing there is less of a chance of him not walking all the way to the bathroom and not making it or choosing not to go because location. There is a chat group on here if you want to join.

@aengs2 Yes, totally agree. My son was a late bloomer and was a month shy of 4 but once he was ready and understood the process, he was potty trained in less than a week. 👌

If she's not interested in actually sitting on it yet, I would wait a little longer. Just keep it in the bathroom and she'll let you know when she's interested. My son showed signs of readiness at 24 months too and even went on the potty a few times at that age but he wasn't fully on board so we waited until he was 2.5. Waiting until he would actually want to sit there and understood why was very beneficial. Now he's doing amazing at it since we never forced it on him. I've heard that forcing it can actually prolong the process.

@leroydoom, o ok because she follows me and grabs toilet paper and she will take off diaper after she pees I know the signs of her going she will squat or movements but today when I tried twice when she followed me to bathroom i tried sitting she gets mad and gets up and closes the top of toilet so when I’m done she goes and closes the top of toilet after I’m done

Does she tell you she has to pee?

@leroydoom, o ok now I understand yea she throws a fit if I sit her on her toilet so I was like maybe tomorrow start a whole new day and put the toilet where she usually plays and watches tv maybe that would help because when I go to bathroom she always follows me and takes the toilet paper lol but yea I was thinking maybe it will help I want to at least have her trained to where she can least use bathroom before baby is here I’m excited and sad that she is growing up more 🤧 but it will help

@madalynnelenamom2016 if I can give any type of advice it would be to keep the potty in the bathroom, if she becomes used to watching TV while she goes potty there's a chance she could refuse to go potty anywhere else.

@emileewells1153, I tried that twice since I go a lot but she just closes the top part of her toilet and then when I’m done she closes the top of toilet but she shows signs to potty train I just don’t know where to start I was thinking on buying some stickers and putting them on her toilet and tomorrow try to move her toilet to where she watches tv and plays maybe that will help

I would wait a little longer, its going to be a struggle if she won't/refuses to sit and that'll just be a bad experience you don't need. I'd continue letting her go to the bathroom with you, encourage her to sit but let her decide, its okay if she sits with her pull up on if it helps her to become more comfortable with the potty. I'd say when she's comfortable enough to sit naked from the waist down on the potty, ditch the pull ups, and let her pick out big girl panties. Explain to her that she's a big girl and big girls pee pee on the potty and not in their panties. If she does have an accident, she probably won't like the feel of the wet fabric.

Thats just my advice 😊 my son thought pull ups were just another type of diaper so I had to go to regular underwear.

Also, a small reward when she does use the potty helps 👍

Maybe go in the bathroom together and you both go pee. You pee in your potty and get excited and maybe she will pee in her potty and get excited (like mommy)

is it wrong to be frustrated that my daughter acts like she can't do certain things with out my help. she plays dumb a lot and I wish I could be like no girl show what you know. she acts like she can't trace or match shapes so shes ask for "mommy finger" to help her so I barely hold her hand and she magically can do it but if I dont hold her hand she just scribbles and acts like she doesnt know the pic is how she traces when I'm "helping her" otherwise it'll just be scribbles all over the page

I’ve posted about my defiant toddler many times before but I’m really at a loss now. She deliberately disobeys. Like, she knows what “no” means and if she’s doing something she knows she’s not supposed to I can ask “do you want to go in timeout?” And she’ll answer “no” and SOMETIMES stop.. I can’t take her anywhere cause she refuses to listen. She runs wild, screams, throws tantrums etc. At home she’s just as bad and absolutely nothing I do or say helps. Timeout doesn’t work, hand poppings don’t work, a pop on the butt doesn’t work, I’ve tried getting down to her level and calmly explaining things or trying to make sure she knows that I understand her emotions and things like that but I’m not even kidding when I say nothing works with her. I’m constantly telling her no and even though she knows she’s going to get into trouble she will do it anyways and then cream this blood curdling scream when she does get in trouble. I’ve raided Pinterest for days, write everything down, tried everything I found... idk what else to do. Everyone keeps telling me it’s “terrible twos” or “she’s just strong willed” or that it’s normal for her age and all of that might be true but there’s gotta be some kind of something that will help me teach her to listen to me and such.

So, I have noticed the little things my puppy Bailee does and I really wanted to know what they meant here are some examples she will go out of her way to sit or stand over my foot, she HAS to be touching me, she climbs on me and sits on my chest etc... So because I wanted to know I spoke with a behavioral specialist and found out, Bailee legitimately believes I am her mommy❤ she is showing others that I am hers and "marking me" She knows I'm pregnant and by sitting on my chest she is showing me she accepts Brinley. I cried like a baby yhst my puppy could love me this much❤ In this picture she had just realized I was awake and taking her picture❤ she was asleep I'll post that in the comments. Bailee is my sweet baby
