This PISSES me off. I begged the nurses and doctors in the NICU to take madi’s feeding tube out and give her a chance to have to take all feeds by mouth and they said no. Now we have feeding issues

It’s a benefits versus risk thing. They have to outweigh if her taking feeds would burn too many calories or tire her out too much. Oral aversions are extremely common with NICU babies for many reasons.

My son was not a nicu baby but he does not eat and now has a G tube (in his belly)
Just keep practicing eating. My son sees a feeding specialist and they tell me to continue doing what I am doing and hopefully one day he will eat
Just keep offering her the bottle, or boob, whatever you are doing.

@jtaylorg, A speech pathologist can help or a feeding specialist. Our ST was a feeding therapist.
