Watching the Break Up, omg can I cry anymore... my partner and I have been suffering from separation…

Watching the Break Up, omg can I cry anymore... my partner and I have been suffering from separation due to his new job he took on for our family. He makes me feel guilty most days. He complains about it daily😑 I feel bad but I’m losing it myself. He talks about not getting a day off, where’s mine? Am I missing something? Haven’t we given and taken enough. Yet I’m not sure if any of this is helping our relationship... days like this I wanna drop my kids off at a daycare and work like I always have.

Why is he making you feel guilty if its for his family?

Girl I would talk to him about how grateful he should be he's working and has a good job! There's ton of people struggling to just make it by and would love to work everyday! My husband is one of those people, he loves providing for his family even if he has to work everyday and he never complains. We're a team and we know we have to do our part in our relationship. Just communicate with your partner. Let him know you could work and find a solution to your problems.

@gabby.pineda, I think it’s his own personal problem. What can I do? Aside from assuring him it will be fine. He should be more grateful. I do agree, yet when he starts to tell me I’m ungrateful it bugs me. I only have rude things to say so I keep my mouth shut. He heard some today and let’s just say he’ll be coming home tempered. I might just set his dinner in the microwave and sleep.

@mama.ally2009 I hope you the best! Sounds like he could use a therapist though for his problems.

It's possible he's not actually trying to make you feel guilty, he just doesn't know what else to talk about. And if he's not having a good time at his job, chances are that's what he's going to talk about.

Some people don't know how else to talk someone unless they share their misery, and if they're anything like my dh Lol, they tend to wallow in it. Usually at the expense of the feelings of others.

Have you explained to him that you're also miserable? That you miss him and it's hard on you, as well? It's also good to just share the misery and get it out there. It might not seem particularly productive in that it doesn't change the circumstances, it'll at least get everyone's feelings out there without an emphasis on pointing the finger at the other.

There's also the option of simply discussing other ways to bring in money so that both of you aren't away from each other. I'm sorry if this has already been an avenue that's been discussed into exhaustion, but I just figured I'd throw that in there.

All in all, parenting and working are hard jobs. Try to be there for each other without letting the distance make each other grow resentful.

@deborahjq, best advice and I wanted to really say thank you. I do understand sharing misery and maybe rant off mine might help. Or at least make him feel appreciated because he is missed when gone
