What’s the earliest that some of you have started your baby’s on rice cereal ?

No solids before 6mo here. Babies tummies are sensitive and are not really ready for solids before then so I play it safe.

We don’t do rice, but we do oatmeal at 6 months if baby is developmentally ready.

It’s empty calories. Babies don’t need food this early.

There’s no nutritional value to baby rice, it doesn’t benefit baby at all. Look in to BLW and wait until baby is fully ready before giving solids. Breastmilk/Formula is all they need so young.

At our 4 month appointment the pediatrician said we can start baby food if the baby looks at us while we eat and seems interested but I’m waiting till closer to 6 months.

No baby food or table food til at least 6mnths. I suggest BLW and or Beech Nut baby food.

Is there a difference in starting them on gerbers or rice cereal first?

@vanessa81.vr, yes my baby stares with his tongue out when we eat. He always seems hungry and wants a bottle every 2-3 hours. I think we are going to start with rice cereal when.

I use it only with one nitrile at night with my 7 weeks old and it helps them sleep longer

From what I’ve read there’s no nutritional value in rice cereal might as well just skip it
