ladies, how much would you spend on your first baby shower? I don’t wanna be cheap, but don’t wanna be over doing it.

I honestly don’t want a baby shower I’m more on the shy side of life I’m very quiet at times and hate the center of attention but also I rather use the money I’m planning to have a baby shower with and purchase more things for my baby my family and friends are the ones that’s are super excited about throwing me one so about $1500 they have so far #smallfamily

It would be cheaper to do it yourself. I never had a shower with my first i feel like it’s a waste of money when we can just buy everything and save. This one is out rainbow baby so my husband wanted to celebrate. So I’m planning and doing everything myself. My hall was $650 alone 🤦🏽‍♀️ I’m so cheap but my husband is bougie so i keep pulling him back from spending an arm and a leg. I did my own centerpieces and I’m doing my own dessert table. Basically everything some food will be catered the rest I’m cooking. I’m a control freak so i need to do everything myself.

@lexii18, I think what she’s saying is that for $800 she will come up with the concept & decorate but you’ll have to pay for the decorations separately.

@lexii18, $800 just to set up and make a few treats?! That seems pretty expensive. Is there a friend or family member that can help you set up? Check Pinterest, there are a lot of cute ideas that you can pull off yourself.

Well I’m cheap and didn’t want to spend over $500-600. What exactly is included in the $800? Cake? All the snacks (cupcakes, cookies etc) for desert table? All the decorations? Centerpieces? Favors?

@lexii18 yikes! Our shower is at my MIL. We have 70 people invited and 60 yes' already. Decorations are DIY and total cost is about $40 for all that, food will be about $100, The cake I am doing and will cost me about $25, games are all diy and free as well. So we are looking at about $175 and it will be insanely great cost is easily decreased if you are willing to put in the time and work yourselves.

My first one was $300.. That included food and gift I have mice outside in my yard to 10th and some tables so that's what's the biggest chunk of my bill.

My second one My auntie give me I only put in 200 but it came to 550..

This one... Not sure I will have one..

But you could just do it at a your favorite Buffet and then that will cut down on food in space. And then all you have to do is buy gifts which I'm for the Dollar Tree has a lot of cool things and that should save you money too

I would use them to do setup and decorations will save u so much money ..

If you are throwing it I would keep it under $500. Depending on finances. You want to hopefully gain more from it than you spend. But you can do it on more of a budget if needed. Don’t worry what others think, so what you want and can do.

So I did the set up because I was so picky ! That 800 dollars u can use for decorations and your platter food , does ur babies father have people to help set up ??

@jellybeans_mumm, i don’t have big family but my baby father kinda does. So I’m guessing about 50-60 people nothing big. This lady wanted $800 just to set up the baby shower.. it that to much? Or that’s about the right price

Way to much all depends on the people u invite I planned for small but I have a big family so over 2000
