@knockout, sometimes there never is a baby but just a sac. But what possibly happened is that the baby didn’t implant well or another natural cause

@knockout, I have heard of this happening, but didn’t know they actually have to manually remove it after. Did they say surgery or do they give you pitocin to cause more contractions so you can deliver the second placenta? This is all very interesting to me. Glad your baby is fine. That’s all that matters. And of course it’s not your fault. ❤️

I had two bags of water... One busted two days before I have birth to my daughter... They said my body was preparing for twins and that's why I had another water sac...

You didn't cause it! My twin vanished. It's relatively common

@knockout, it’s just something that happens. Unfortunately, it’s pretty common and a lot of times happens before you even know you had twins. There’s nothing you could have done to prevent it at all.

This happened to hubs mom. She didn’t have 2 placentas when she delivered though. She had a vanishing twin. He jokes all the time saying the world couldn’t have handled 2 of him.

@knockout, sounds like a vanishing twin. My mom had one with my sister. Most of the time the placenta gets absorbed but in your case, it obviously has been getting the right stuff to grow.

Maybe is was a vanishing twin situation, and your body never absorbed the placenta?

On my last ultrasound they found that I have 2 placentas but one baby. One placenta is completely empty. They said they just need to put it in my file so they know to remove it after I deliver. But HOW is that possible? 3rd pregnancy and never experienced this before. Next ultrasound is Tuesday
