What’s your take on vaccinations? Some people think they do more harm to the baby than good .. personally I don’t know , but I would love some insight.
I'd like to apologize to the mother that originally started this thread. Come ON ladies. We are raising a generation here. We need to work together. I am sorry @tedrielleselders that you are dealing with this ugliness. Ask around, read, look up, and seek advice. We all are doing the best we know how with the best of the knowledge we have at the time.
If you don't want to vaccinate that's fine. I do so just please keep your kids and diseases away from mine. I'll take the risks that come with vaccinations. 🤷🏼♀️
@ndnprincess7 I did as a kid. All 3 of us got it from a friend's 2 yr old. Both my Aunt and my brother got shingles as adults. Some people have a stronger immunity to chicken pox and it is a one-time deal. Others are less tolerant of it and it stays dormant until adult on-set shingles. They say it is triggered by stress but see, since not everyone has the same reaction I feel it is so worth it to get vaccinated for chicken pox. The whole idea when we were younger was to get it as a child and we would be OK they said. That is simply NOT the case for everyone.
My son got the mumps. Diagnosed A week before he was scheduled to get his 2nd dose.... I tell you what, he couldn't move his head. He couldn't swallow..his testicles were so swollen it was painful to sit, stand, lay, or move period. He was in pain..
I’d rather have an autistic kid then a dead kid cuz of a preventable disease 🤷🏼♀️ even though they don’t cause autism but still
People have longer life expectancies these days thanks to advancements in medical science. Infant and child mortality rates are much lower now than 100-200 years ago or even further back.
People were more likely to die from simple things such as an ear infection (leading to brain abscess) or food allergies. Sure people get these illnesses still, but they are normalized because they don't have the mortality rate they once did if diagnosed.
Diseases that we vaccinate against still have a relatively high mortality rate if contracted, and spread easily to those who are not immune. That is why it is better and more successful to prevent than to try and treat after contraction.

@its.sarah, first off, lets be logical. the human mind and body as a whole is very advanced. do you really think it needs the assistance of TOXINS in order to survive again lab made diseases. second, if you’ve had the chance to get your hands on a vaccine insert NOT a CDC flyer but an actual insert it’ll almost be like child abuse once you’ve read the ingredients you’re consenting your child to be injected with. Also, vaccines does in fact cause autism along with “simple” infections and diseases like ear infections, allergies, eczema, milk intolerance, etc. No one is born with those things, doctors often normalize those things. Vaccines attack your G. I. system and brain which trigger these things into motion. Herd immunity is a myth to me, personally and saying you’re vaccinating your child for the betterment of others simply sounds like scarification but to each its own.
@ndnprincess7 if you've had chicken pox once it's very unlikely you'll get it again! Also you can't get shingles from someone with chicken pox :) this is what the National Health Service (UK) website has to say about it https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/chickenpox/
I think it's crazy how vaccinations are even up for debate in America! In the UK it's very uncommon to come across someone who doesn't vaccinate!
@kaander1 I don't run with my doctor says, I did my own research and felt like the pros outweigh the cons. I love my son and want him to be protected.

@bb_elizabethc, I completely agree with you. No vaccinations are the best decision. Besides it’s always the pro vaxxers who show their true ignorance but are so oblivious they’re not aware of how ignorant they are. PLUS, medical school doesn’t even go into depth on vaccinations. lol i’ll hate to be a person who takes everything these doctors say and just run with it without thinking for myself.
Do I vaccinate my children, yes and no. All of children are up to date on all vaccinations expect for 1 child. She can not safely be vaccinated, therefore relies on herd immunity.
I am that mom tho. I know for 100% fact that every one around us is vaccinated. I do not allow unvaccinated children around my children. It is my responsibility to keep them safe.
@ndnprincess7 I had chicken pox and if you have chicken pox you will get shingles later and if someone comes into contact with the sores that hasn't been vaccinated they can contract the chicken pox. And you should be immune but I've heard of people getting pox and shingles more then once.
3 oldest vaccinated youngest son Isn’t my youngest daughter is my son can’t have vaccines so I make sure my other kids are to protect him. Anti Vaxxers putting my kid at risk because they think they know better 😒

I would hope so since I already contracted it. But I haven't checked. We'll find out when my son gets chicken pox someday lol. You can ask your doctor to draw titers before receiving any new vax or boosters and that will tell you what you're already immune to. I haven't personally known anyone who got shingles if they contracted natural cpox but anything is possible @ndnprincess7

@kambam, do you know if you’re immune to it now? I saw something saying we’re more likely to get shingles if not immune to the pox. I don’t know how to check that though.

They are very healthy and if we do come across a "disease " we will cure them as normal. people have had these diseases and survived and are immune for life. You do know some vaccinces shed and that can get other people sick right? As a parent i have asked for a vaccine insert and they didnt give it to me. They gave me a handout/printout from the cdc website which was not what i asked for. So i found it myself. Im very informed thank you.
We vaccinate and always will ! Besides the flu shot lol. I disagree with people who think they shouldn’t vaccinate because it can cause more harm. That’s just false facts. The percentage of having a bad side affect is soooo low! There’s way more chances a child can get way more sick if they don’t get vaccinated. Vaccination was made for a reason! Just like taking some meds for a headache was! My daughter is one now and has never gotten sick not even a cough!

Also- as a parent you can ask for a vaccine insert. Doctors keep them in office for parents wanting to know.
No one in my family has ever had an adverse reaction so we vaccinate. We won't do the HPV shot(not required) but everything else we do. I believe in the science of vaccines.
I would suggest looking up the ingredients in the vaccines to start with. They are horrible and to be honest im not going to risk my children for the rest of the world period. Sorry not sorry. Im not saying im smarter than a doctor but they couldnt even tell you whats all in vaccines or whats on a vaccine insert, as far as adverse reactions. Doing research and getting informed is the best thing you can do for your baby.
@db413, yeah I didn’t want to give my baby the flu shot either. After 2, 4, and 6 month shots, as a mother I opted out on the flu shot because flu season was just about over with at the time.
I always read on vaccinations when I come across it. I do believe in vaccinating my LO. Coincidental, CNN just published an article yesterday on opting out on vaccines leaves areas vulnerable for outbreaks.
Agree with above post. Any side effect that may come from a vaccination is extremely rare and in my opinion wayyy better then the diseases they vaccinating for.
