Just wanted to share an old journal entry from my last pregnancy in 2015:

I keep thinking of this story of a woman in a another country, I believe it was Africa. Well, anyways, their required to bring their own water for delivery. Water for the doc and nurse staff to sanitize before and after delivery, water to clean baby, water to clean themselves. Well, this lady did not have/bring enough water. Water is very expensive there. She had to wait over 24 hours just to clean herself after delivery. Her family had to come up with money for water, and then walk it to miles & miles away to bring it. She had to walk to the hospital herself with the water in-hand before delivery, mind you.

I recall her saying "she was very embarrassed and felt very nasty" afterwards. But she was humble and thankful for the water she did have, and continued to smile, gratefully having a healthy baby, family that cared and water over 24 hours later to clean herself.

I feel like a butthole for not being appreciative of what I do have, and also not showing faith that everything will work out no matter what - even if not the way I hoped for.

Back story: I was doing a lot of complaining and stressing over things out of my hands, and even unreasonable...

***Lesson, be grateful for what you do' have. And never forget we all struggle in one way or another. Also, your norm or expectation could be someone's lack of/need - or even luxury.
