How to Get Work Restrictions During High-Risk Pregnancy?
PLEASE HELP!! I need some advice. I tried to schedule an appointment with my OB about possibly getting some restrictions for work (PCT at a hospital-physically demanding) and I was told to leave a message for his nurse. I did, and I expressed my concerns about the fact that I’ve had multiple pregnancies in the past 9 months and that I feel like this pregnancy needs to be more closely monitored and protected. She called me back and she said that my OB won’t put me on any restrictions because he wants to ensure it’s a “viable pregnancy” and that it’s not proven that lifting and pulling on 250 pound patients can cause miscarriages. This infuriated me. I mean, I don’t want to go through another miscarriage! I’ve tried to conceive for two years and I want to ensure I’m protected!

Lifting and stuff won't hurt your pregnancy, I'm 36 weeks and just got put on lifting restrictions- not to protect my baby, but to protect my back. If you are used to doing it before baby, you are perfectly safe yo do it while pregnant. If issues come up that cause you to need to be careful, your doctor will let you know. I had a subchor hemmorhage with this pregnancy and still lifted patients 200+ lbs and it resolved itself on its own. There was no reason for anyone to be rude, I promise you will be fine in fact it's healthier for you to continue to be as active as you were before pregnancy and not change your daily life at all (unless you develop complications) nothing you do can hurt a baby that early on.😁
