A little empathy goes a long way. Here’s to hoping you have an A+ child that never throws tantrums or cries in public

I mean i understand it gonna happen but i know their are ways to soothe and calm a child. Even when having tantrums .ive watched kids of all ages they would start throwing a tantrum and i soothe them

@elijahsmom, Soooo can you be 100% positive that this child was not autistic? Maybe he/she has a hidden disability that causes inconsolable fits of lashing out. Or maybe the child was having a rough day and was tired and has no other way to express that than acting out. If you are so amazing at soothing children, maybe you could have helped the situation by trying to console them yourself? Or even just giving the mother an encouraging “you’re doing great” smile rather than judging the way she handles her kid.

I have a 4 and 5 year olds and my oldest has autism, melt down are a daily thing for us and some times I can calm them sometimes I just have to let him calm. Don’t judge from the outside you have no idea why the kid is melting down or why the parents let them.

@rjxmommy she was letting hi. Bc she didnt wanna deal with him and she was letting her other kid do all the work that she should have been doing .

You can’t always soothe a toddler through a tantrum. You’re going to eat your words when your son is throwing a fit in public and people are visibly annoyed

You can’t tell just by looking at a child if there autistic or not, my son looks like a normal child until you spend time with him you would never know. I’ve been there my son having his fourth or fifth meltdown of the day and I just need a second so I will let his dad or brother calm him or I will let him have a little fit and then calm him as mothers our kids are going to throw fits and sometimes we just can’t stop them and we need a break, that doesn’t make us bad parent it makes us human.

@amomandherbug, preach it 🙌🏽 Moms are so quick to judge. One of my first times going out with my daughter I had a huge diaper bag and was trying to get the stroller into the store through two sets of doors in a row that weren’t automatic (WHO designed that 🙄 clearly not a mom) and this mom came up to me with her own kids and opened the door and said she remembers being a new mom. Such a simple thing literally made me feel amazing the whole afternoon. Now I always try to go out of my way for other mommas!

@mommytok, Absolutely!! It’s always the simple things and it takes a village!! ☺️

@mommytok wasnt really judging. But at least try and soothe or calm your kid dont let your other kid be a parent to your kid. Dont just sit there do something . She did nothing thats what i had a problem with
Rachel·
@elijahsmom, you literally have no idea what happened ten minutes before you crossed paths with this mom. Maybe her kid has been acting up all day and she feels so helpless because everything she does to try to correct the behavior is unsuccessful. Maybe she has a new baby at home and is suffering from ppd. You have no clue. And I also would like to reiterate that by LOOKING at a child for a few minutes you cannot tell if that have autism. Even a pediatrician doesn’t diagnose a child with autism but just looking at them. So maybe you didn’t have to go out of your way to make a post about this moms rough day, and then defending your judgement to everyone that can empathize with this mother.

- If you cave and give the kid whatever he wants, you’ll always have to do that. If they learn that throwing fits won’t get them what they want, them they’ll eventually stop throwing fits. Plenty of people already said it. You don’t know that moms story, can’t even pretend to. It’s embarrassing as all get out when your kid is acting a fool, trust me, you’re completely aware of everyone around. 😅😅😅 I love seeing how different people handle tantrums.
