When I first found out I was pregnant I told people and they helped me make appointment because I never did them before. Now Im pregnant and don’t want to tell anyone... who do I can to make the first appointment?? I’m so confused right now 😐😐
@modom16, I do schedule her appointment but I never schedule my own appointment i never had my own OB I always had help from my mom. Yes I was covered under my parents till I gave birth.
@xomarylee, do you not schedule your child’s dr appointments?
@xomarylee, look I get insurance being confusing but Medicaid is the most simple one ever. Were you on your parents insurance before?
Do you have a pregnancy clinic or a planned parenthood in your area?
They usually have someone there that can help you apply for Medicaid, or go to your local Medicaid office. Once you’re approved you can look up OBs in your area and pick one that take Medicaid.
@scruffy.nerf.herder, I forgot to mention I do have support if I asked for it but I don’t like the way people went about things when I was pregnant so know that me and dude are on our own we don’t want to tell anyone about the pregnancy.
@scruffy.nerf.herder, totally understand where most people come from but I always knew I wanted my kids close in age. I don’t want to be doing it after some years knowing that I want a lot I don’t want to be old and have babies lol
@messybunmom, the letter had stated to wait for the card in the mail so idk but I’ll do that. Thanks
I don't mean this in a mean way at all, it is coming from a place of caring for you and your babies, but you might also want to talk to the doctor about getting on birth control after you deliver.
Babies close together are physically hard on the body, and it sounds like you are confused and a little overwhelmed right now as it is. I hope you can find a trusted adult friend or relative to help you with this process. Good luck to you hun! ❤️
From my understanding, Medicaid doesn’t do the cards anymore. I’m not quite sure how it all works now as I don’t have it anymore. I have blue cross/blue shields.
Google Medicaid in your state and give them a call in the morning. Have a paper and pen ready to write down important info that you could forget. They might qualify you over the phone also.
@messybunmom, no i understand lol, but i didn’t. I had got a lot of help at the hospital when my baby was born and her dad helps with most of it. I had got a paper I. The mail saying she’s covered and that if anything I can show to docs the letter but te card never came in the mail.
Did you not have an insurance card with your last pregnancy? I don’t seem to understand how you don’t know what insurance you had. I’m not trying to be snarky.
You can apply for Medicaid online and in my state, if you qualify they will approve you right there. It doesn’t take a week where I live. Also, I’ve never heard of making an appointment before a certain week.
My firsts two pregnancies, I didn’t see my doc until 10 weeks. Almost 8 weeks with my third.
Just call an obgyn office and I’m sure they will help with any questions and walk you through everything. That’s what they are there for. You’re definitely not the only person that doesn’t know how to go about all this. Never be afraid to ask questions.
Reapply for pregnant womens medicaid, take about a week to get approved and have your card and such. Whatever plan they give you, you can always look up obgyn that accept the insurance. Or just use the one u previously used...either way. Its not as hard as u think, sign up, find a dr, set an appointment.
@xomarylee, hmm well you could apply for Medicaid and it should take about a week to get an answer
@girlmom., my first appointment ever was at 7wks I remember they said at the hospital you must be before 8wks for your first
@pettybetty, her dad has that info. Just saying I’m 18 just left my parents house.. no one ever helped me learn about insurance or how it works or anything. It’s like I’m out having to learn sh** the hard way.
My Dr does 7 weeks, I'm 7 weeks pregnant and my appointment is Friday. I would just call because they book up quickly 😘
If you just had a baby and baby is only 5 months old, what insurance did you have for your recent pregnancy?
@cray, i don’t have that information. They never gave me it. I just remembered so many people coming in and out. And all I ever had for my appointments were different nurses everytime.
@girlmom., I’ll have to real more about it and i heard you have to to make an appointment before 8wks. 😐
Did you just have a baby? Just use the dr that delivered your last baby.
@cray, ??? I don’t have one.
Just call your obgyn and tell them your pregnant, they'll ask when you had your last monthly period. 😊
@girlmom., i don’t but my daughter does.
Doctor denied birth control,now I'm pregnant!
I called my doctor to refill my prescription and they said I would need to make an appointment, okay so I try to make an appointment but they no longer take my insurance since I'm no longer pregnant.
ok ladies no judgment but i havent called to make an obgyn appointment yet because honestly i just dont feel like going yet i was thinking of calling to make an appointment when i hit 12-14 weeks the few people who know im pregnant think im crazy for waiting
Soooo I just called my Obgyn to make an appointment for the first time. They told me I can’t go in until February 9th! 😡 I want to go in now to see how far along I really am and to make sure I’m okay! Ughhhh. This is not a good morning for my pregnant ass.
i was definitely NOT supposed to make it to todays appointment she was supposed to be here by now, now i have to take the stupid NST..... im over being pregnant it was fun while it lasted but the end is starting to stress me 😔
What normally happens at your first obgyn appointment for scheduling that you found out your pregnant from a home test ?
Just call an obgyn office and I’m sure they will help with any questions and walk you through everything. That’s what they are there for. You’re definitely not the only person that doesn’t know how to go about all this. Never be afraid to ask questions.
