"One" of my worst fears of pregnancy is having an emergency c-sec due to poor decision making/or laziness/ money motivated/ personal obligations from the doc. Absolutely terrified. I've heard of docs making this a unnecessary practice - can't remember which hospital I was reading had the highest c-sec rating in the US.
That always worries me also. Not so much from my doctor but one of the doctors that might be on call. With my last baby I was almost given pitocin when I didn't need it because the nurse didn't check to make sure the contraction monitor was in the right place. Luckily another nurse caught it. I was already having strong contractions so if I had pitocin on top of it I would have been in so much pain and probably would have caused problems.
It’s so common now, at the first sight of a problem they opt for the section. It’s not the worst thing in the world if I’m being honest, I’ve had 3. My recoveries have been good, no issues. Just wish they’d try harder to make natural delivery possible but a section is more money and less time consuming.
It is very common now unfortunately, it's just easier for the doctors because then they can just plan one and not have to deal with being on call and checking on you constantly...
It's a ashame I had nightmares during my pregnancy as a FTM I was determined to not allow them to operate on me to remove my baby. C sections are so common now it's almost a norm.

Than when you brag about have natrual birth your shamed and called arrogant and self-righteous.
This is exactly why I have the Dr I have. He’s always pushing for vaginal. Even with my twins. As long as baby a is head down at delivery, we are going for vaginal.
This is why I went with a midwife this go around. Hard to find doctors who don’t push medical interventions. Half of the time (for me) they weren’t necessary.
i had to have one because my baby was head down (NOT BREECHED) but face up (sunnyside up) and i pushed for 3 hours also after pushing that long baby wasnt doing good her heart began to skip beats and it just the longer we wouldve waited for me to push the worse it wouldve got so c section ended up being the safest way this time my OB is hoping to give me successful VBAC but she told me the option for another c section is always there if thats what i want

@damnkmar, my baby is sunny side up. I’m so nervous of this happening. I just really don’t want a c-section. Glad everything went well for you tho❤️
@kellywidener820, she can possibly change at the last min my baby is currently sunnyside up but theyre hoping she changes at the last min i really didnt want a c section and wanted a vaginal birth but after 3 long hours of pushing they were concerned about her getting stuck in the vaginal canal
That was a part of why I went for a midwife 🙌🏽 If anyone is curious, watch the documentary The Business of Being Born. Literally they did so much research. Most unplanned c sections are preformed right before doc goes home 🙄 Like they just want to hurry and deliver baby so they can make it to dinner with their wife or something. America’s childbirth stats are sooooo bad.
My doctor tried it on me after having me induced for no reason. I put my foot down and ordered him to not be anywhere near the delivery room. I pushed my baby out perfectly fine. Then immediately switched doctors.
That is why I got a doula this time around. They not pulling that mess on me!

In situations like that you have to stick up for yourself and your baby because all the doctors see is a paycheck. And I wasn’t about to get sliced open for my doctor’s convenience and have an even harder recovery because I was laboring for too long for him. Um no!!
@novamber25th, yes because she moved at the last min it was last min to try to get to turn her i was 10 centimeters dilated and trying to push as they tried to turn her, she wasnt going☹️😭
@novamber25th, yes we switched and tried about 3-4 different birthing positions to try to make it easier so i could have her vaginally they say its very hard to deliver sunnyside up babies had she been face down we would’ve been smooth sailing😭😭
@damnkmar - Man! Well, I am happy she is here now and safe! I go Friday (if I make it) for my ultrasound to make sure baby boy is still in birthing position. I am ready for him to come but I want him to bake a little longer.
No bowel movement after c-sec I had a c-sec on Friday. It's 4 days now and I have not had a bowel movement yet. Is this normal? I'm planning to have some milk of magnesia tomorrow. When did you mommas have a BM after your c-sec?
would you have another c-sec or vbac??
c sec scheduled for monday may 9th surgery @ 9 😖😢 im not ready!

Can you have a c-sec at 37 weeks I can't take these pains anymore 😔
