Okay help....so normally when I deliver I get the epi as soon as possible because of the pain and they can see the contractions off the scale....but then I feel the entire birth and the pressure right before pushing. So when I get the epi I'm usually around 3 or 4 cm. But I labor for hours and I think it wears off...do you think if I try to wait it out I will feel less pain during the actual delivery?

They should be able to push more through at the end. Mine they were able to adjust the dose as needed. I didn’t get mine till my water broke, I had her not too long after, maybe an hour or so, and it definitely worked! I would express your concerns with them, because it really might just be the dose! But do it before you actually get the epidural. Speak to the anesthesiologist.

@newlywedmama21, I truly think it might have ran out! Or maxed out. Mine would only let you press it so many times in a window of time.
