So I'm not sure how many of you cloth diaper, but I love it! And I have these for beauties in the way to me right now! ? I cannot wait to get them! ?
i always wanted to try them but i l don't like velcro my kids can take them off there super strong lol plus i love my bestbottom Al2 and my bumgenius freetimes ♡♡ plus i cant see myself spending so much when im actually trying to save i always go overboard and spend more than what i would on boxes of diapers lol this time im thinking about getting my little Lillian newborn happy flute and then using my favorite prints of bestbottoms and freetimes then selling the rest to find the best brand for her
I thought that with my daughter, I was like I'll never spend that much! Haha then I gave in and bought one and LOVED it! It was by far the best brand we had tried. So I sold almost every other diaper in my stash and we were almost exclusively Ragababes :)
It's definitely cheaper. My water bill didn't go up hardly any after I had my daughter and it's literally 1 extra load of laundry every 2-3 days. And honest co diapers are super pricey and they literally go in the trash. So even if I spent the same amount on cloth as I would disposables, I could either reuse them for another child or sell them and recoup some of the money I spent. So it would still be cheaper.
But a stash of cloth diapers, the soap, and the water will still be cheaper than the 2+ years of disposables:)
@kfear go check out the cloth diaper forum and read the cloth diapering 101 post at the top of the page :) you can also check out cloth diapering 101 on YouTube and fluffloveuniversity.com
If you still have questions feel free to ask me ?
@mrs. Idk if you are aware but with flats or prefolds you can use pins, but they also have fasteners called snappis and boingos that are just as secure as pins as long as you are using a diaper cover, but are also a lot easier and they don't have the added risk of sticking baby or fingers. Some people still like pins.. I used flats and old school pins without covers for my dd during the summer at home so she would be cooler, and I actually didn't mind them at all. But for out and about snappis were much quicker and easier :)
I'm so glad to see some fellow CD Mommas :) I have no problems answering questions! I have helped so many of my friends with it, I just love it! It can definitely be cost efficient but it can also easily cost whatever you're willing to put into it. I never really did it for cost, we did it because we don't like the chemicals in disposables.. It's a good thing we decided to as our daughter was allergic to every single brand except for Honest Co. And those are pricey, a lot of money literally going to the trash can.
But even with all of the money I put into I made back almost everything I spent. Can't do that with sposies! ?
I clothed both of my boys. I got rid of all of my CD at the beginning of this year because we decided no more kids lol. Now I'm stocking up again! Grovia AIO NB (the hemp and cotton ones, with tails), and a few Thirsties AIO NB (also hemp and cotton with tails). I prefer the Grovia just from looking at the two. I'm not sure what OS or sized diapers I want to get after the newborn stage.
Thanks! :) these are my favorite brand!
My plan was to re-use my original stash, it was huge and so pretty ? but then I got divorced and sold them to have some money since I had been a SAHM. So while I'm bummed I can't reuse those... I also LOVE buying new diapers. We used disposables for 9 days then went straight into cloth. I'm planning to CD from birth this time ?
We cloth diapered our daughter from about 8 weeks old. She's 3 now and potty trained. Loved using cloth and I love that we will just use the same ones for this baby. Huge savings!!!!! We just use disposables when we go out, so I would probably but one pkg of 30 diapers every couple of months.
Those diapers are really cute!
I use flips and all organic flip inserts in them but now my baby Bella is potty trained and I have to grow a heart to sell them soon so they can be loved again by a new baby as there all like new.
