Has anyone had success using a birthing ball (or anything else) to help induce labor? I am at my wits end. I am trying for a vbac but my dr. Isn't comfortable with inducing me because it causes really hard contractions. So if I don't go on my own I will be having another csection. My last c section was an awful experience. And this time around I have a toddler to chase around afterwards. So any advice is greatly welcomed!?! What did you do to help yourself go into labor?

@lmtreleven I get my pump tmw. But as soon as it gets here I am going to give it a try. Is there a set routine to do to get labor started? How long should I use it to get started?

@uniloveee Using a breast pump to do nipple stimulation. Its suppose to release something in your body to bring in labor. Midwives usually use this to help bring moms into labor. But if you use a pump I recommend storing any collostum and milk that comes out as the collostum has very important nutrients that baby needs. So that it can be given after birth.

@lilinnocence718 Yea uterine rupture is my dr reason for not wanting to induce. As the strong contractions for such a long period of time can cause it. I had the option to get induce but i don't want to put my life or my son life in danger just because i want to give birth vaginally. My yoga ball has been giving me some minor cramps but it goes away when i go to bed. So I am hoping to find ways that have helped other mommas. I know not everything works for every women but it can't hurt to try. I hope your little one comes on their own and your get your vbac. Keep us posted.

Inducing also increases the chance of uterine rupture. I’m in the same boat, due on Tuesday. Walking helps, he always feels lower and I feel more pressure but my uterus is still pretty high so it’s not fully helping. A light run can help too! I sprinted across the street and that brought on some cramping/the feeling I get after lots of walking. Dancing is another option, a mom on here said it took her two songs and then her water broke.

I was in the kitchen for 3-4 hours making a huge feast and fought past the pressure I was feeling to wash the dishes.. I went into labor the next morning. With my younger son I walked around a huge field two times and the next night I went into labor. Being on my feet has always helped me.

My doctor said he would induce my labor at 38 weeks, if my baby girl still had growth issues and if the percentile dropped to 10 or less. Last thursday, it was 10 percentile, and he said if she didn't come on her own by 38 weeks, he would induce labor at that time. I'm 36 weeks 1 day today, he said my cervix was super thin, and 1cm dilated. Is there a possibility this can change... that my doctor will let her just come on her own? I don't want to be induced, i would much rather her come on her own when she is ready to come ! As much as I am anxious to meet her and have her home with me, those last few weeks of brain development and lung maturation means so much more to me! I'm hoping and praying that things turn around, and I don't have to get induced. I'm surely going to talk to my doctor about it Thursday when I go back.
