?? Of course the one day I actually get out for a long walk I end up with a roofing nail in my foot.

What what what??? Have you had a tetanus shot?
Lindsay·
@erin yeah. Thanks to my friend's pet monkey biting me, I had one a few years ago. Lol.

Don't worry about tetanus. It's a myth that tetanus is in rust. It's actually in manure or dirt. So unless your around a farm your completely fine. Tetanus shot would do nothing for you as it takes weeks for it to actually kick in. Just clean it well with peroxide and you'll be fine?
Lindsay·
Yeah that's what I did. Thanks girl. ☺️

Mamakaya good for you doing your research!! You're on the money with that! It saddens me when people rush out to get the tetanus shot, and of course if u went to a clinic or hospital, they would give you DTaP immediately ?
Did it bleed when you stepped on it? Blood is a good thing when it comes to avoiding tetanus. Peroxide will kill the bacteria so just be sure to clean the puncture really well with peroxide! ??
Sorry you stepped on that! No fun!!
Lindsay·
It did not bleed. I felt it come through my shoe and eased my step to keep it from going all the way into my foot. There's a small hole but no blood came out. I did clean it with peroxide and am wearing socks inside my house.
I was thinking of putting some tea tree oil on it after my shower tonight.?

It's been a while since my last pedi so that part of my foot is a bit callused. (Sp)

And like I mentioned, I had a tetanus shot when I got bit by a friend's pet monkey back in 2010 or 2011.
Idk why anyone would keep a monkey as a pet. They want to be free!!! Learned that lesson the hard way! ?

Ouch! Glad to hear you didn't fully step on it

Well, pretty sure there is plenty of dirt on a roofing nail. At our practice we recommend getting a booster in case of possible exposure. Might be a good idea to contact your doc. You would probably be given one during pregnancy anyways as that is currently the protocol, at least here. Better safe than sorry. Hope your foot heals quickly.

No pedis till it's fully healed. Don't want those nasty germs getting in ?
