LONG POST ALERT!!! (IN NEED OF HELP & SUPPORT)

Ok mamas. I'm in need of some serious support.

I just had my 38w appt and found out that somehow my lovely little lady has managed to wiggle herself BACK into a breech position. This means that I now have to have c-section. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 I've already cried about it, and am super emo right now even writing about it, but I truly didn't want to have another one.

With my son I had an emergency c-section, and in the midst of it all ended up having a panic attack bc everything scared me so bad. And to make matters worse, the fear/panic attack messed with my hormones, which inevitably messed with my milk supply. 😢😔😭 Between how I delivered and the sadness of it not happening the way I thought, as well as the guilt of a low supply...I felt like a complete f*cking failure as a mom.😢 I wanted to exclusively breastfeed...but that just didn't work out.

Now don't get me wrong...I supplemented with formula, and gave my big boy a bottle of boobie milk a day (that's all I was able to produce) and he is a healthy and happy 3yo beast lol. But the guilt and shame was real for me.

Now that I know I'm to have ANOTHER c-section...those past anxieties about breastfeeding are starting to kick in. No I don't WANT to have a c-section, but I will do WHATEVER I am have to in order to ensure that my babygirl is healthy and happy. But I'm not gonna lie...I need some serious 2 time c-section mommy support right now, before I start spiraling.

My hubs is super supportive and he keeps telling me it'll all work out, and that my boobs will "work better than last time" (lol)...but I'm still worried. I am DETERMINED to get as close to exclusively breastfeeding as I possibly can...with a healthy freezer supply.

Do any of you mama's have advice or reccomendations on this? And can someone share what the second c-section is like please?

Thanks in advance lovies!!!😊

@amk212 omg I'm sorry ur had a bad/scary first experience like I did! But I'm so glad u have this insight. I definitely want that immediate skin to skin with my daughter, bc I didn't get it with my son. And it's good to know it's way less physically taxing and traumatic when it's scheduled. Thanks so much for the info. It's helping keep me calm lol

I had an emergency c-section with my first and ended up really sick because of the fact I had been in labour and back issues, i was stuck in bed for a week after due to complications, second time around I had an elective c-section and I was up and walking the next day and was able to do all the firsts.

It was also very quick in that I was wheeled in and numbed and very soon after we heard the first little cry. Very different experience from the first.

I too was super anxious and even had a panic attack but it was all so controlled and quick.

I would ask if they do assisted delivery, see if you can have skin to skin too.

There are things they can give you to help with your supply, and if breastfeeding is something that is really important to you then ask if you can get a breastfeeding specialist in. I promise that second time around and elective is so much better than emergency c-sections.

@mrs.letty.luna 1st: I pray ur cancer doesn't come back and u are one badass mama!

2nd: Thank you much for replying to this with such insight and encouraging words. I truly needed to hear those right now. I'm gonna try and stay positive and not let circumstances outside of my control stress me out. I will for sure ask about the headphones thing though. Maybe that will help keep my anxieties at bay.

I had a planned second c.sec because my body clamped down hard with my son and also had cancerous tumors in cervix....

I was scared and did cry woth a spinal tap but my hubby was alot better then my first and he calmed me down....

Ask if you can bring headphones for music....

Breast feeding with my son was good for a whole year now my newest baby I have to supplement now and I give her a bottle of boob milk a day or so now that's she is 5months... Don't judge yourself be happy and enjoy you... I'm sad because I was able to get my tumors out but now I must rush my next pregnancy because I'm high risk for cancer to come back
