What age do they start letting children go to The movie theaters ? I wanted to take Josiah to see incredibles 2

My mother in law is going to take my daughter to frozen 2 which she'll be 3

My 3.5 year old just went for the first time a few weeks ago. They went during a week day, so no one else would be there. It went well, but I wouldn’t take him when there’s several other people.

I took my son at 4 months but it wasn't loud. Me and my sil have brought our babies to at least 2 or 3 movies already.

And if your state has mommy matinees the lights are already dim and the volume is low and there are things to accommodate the baby like a changing table on the side in the theater etc. If you go to a matinee you can then ask them to lower the volume but you have to call and speak to a manager before hand.

I would say whenever your comfortable. But I agree with @sunflowerfields definitely hit up a matinee. Its less expensive and less crowded.

I took my daughter at six months one day when she didn’t sleep all night. When I took her to the matinee it was time to nurse her and she fell asleep. But I was watching the movie for a half hour before she was ready to nurse.

“They” don’t have any age limits. It really is up to you as a parent. I tried taking my kids around 2yrs old. It didn’t work out, they kept wanting to leave the theater. Missed most of the movie. I tried a few times. Now, even thought they’re way older, we just go to the drive-in. Way cheaper (free under 5, $1 12 and below).

They say wait until 3 as younger risks damage to their developing ears.
