I will be getting induced on the 21st... is there any way i can avoid having my water broken/getting the contractions provoked by drs and instead go naturally? I heard pineapple helps but would like to up my chances with other ways when the time comes. (No castor oil)
@yesicondaa, I wanted to avoid the epidural as well but I couldn’t handle the pain of the contractions. I only had a sore spot on my back for a week or so. That’s about it for effects of it for me
@yesicondaa, Yes I was dilated to a 3 and 50% effaced :-/ Hopefully you'll start dilating!
I had to be induced with my 2nd! Both are fun and exciting and result in holding your sweet baby 💗💙 Win-Win
@yesicondaa, I went into preterm labor at 33 weeks. They were able to stop it with a shot. I few days later I passed a lot of thick, bloody mucus. All I’ve had so far is a day of thick, rust colored mucus and now it’s been off white and thick since yesterday. Just waiting for the blood to show. And I’m more than ready to have him. This is my last baby. It’s been rough.
@tlilly86, have you had your “bloody show” ? Omg you’re almost there! The good thing is you get to hold your baby a little sooner!
@yesicondaa, I was at 3cm and 75% this last Tuesday. Having a lot of discharge and pressure. I’ll be getting induced this coming Tuesday morning. I’ll be 39 weeks 2 days. Doc is scared I won’t make it to the hospital since I was 9cm when I went in last time. I’m 40 minuets from the hospital now and was only 2 minutes away last time.
@db413, i want to avoid the epidural so bad😩 i heard it has lasting effects on the back.
@tlilly86, ouch! Sounds scary!! &wow!! I go on small walks maybe thats why its not doing a thing lol going to have to start doing some more time when i go for walks.
@hollyn216, were you dilated at all when you got checked? Im not dilated at all and have 2 more weeks to go. Hopefully these things start working before its time🤞🏻🤞🏻
First was born at 34 weeks from a missed placental abruption. Doc sent me home after I went in for bleeding and horrible back pain. Water broke the next day I was 6cm. They figured out it was an abruption when I delivered the placenta.
Second one we went walking for about 5 miles on Monday, by Tuesday night I was having contractions and waited at home until my water broke around 3:30am. I was 9cm when I got to the hospital.
@ke-ke, im going to start the squatting. Ive been walking and having sex and my cervix is absolutely not doing a thing according to my dr lol i don’t have a yoga ball so i cant try that one:/ thank you 💙
@yesicondaa, it wasn’t super horrible. I made it to 7 cm before I couldn’t take the pain and asked for an epidural.
Sex actually worked for my 1st! 38 weeks I had been checked for dilation and we went home and dropped some sperm 😜 Water broke 5 hours later!
Mine had broke on it’s own at home with my previous babies. It feels like a water balloon bursts between your legs, if that makes sense.
@yesicondaa, yeah but it’s kind of annoying to like let me shower how I want but I can’t cause I know it can happen any minute now

@yesicondaa, yeah my SO tells me every time I’m about to shower to not stand under the water just in case my water breaks which worries me because I’m scared I’ll miss it this time but my MIL told me I’ll know so I’m just waiting to see what happens. It’s weird but cool don’t be to scared
@nlock, i guess ill have to live through it to understand 😩 im scared it’ll happen in the shower and i wont realize it. Ive heard some had no idea because it happened in the shower
@yesicondaa, it felt like something popped with a gush of water. It’s something you can’t really miss. It’s hard to explain but that’s the best I can explain it.
@nlock, omg!! Lol that is too funny! Did it feel like you were peeing? Or you just knew it was your water?
@db413, was the pain bad with the pitocin? I want to avoid that as much as possible 😓 and ill be getting induced for the same reason.
@yesicondaa, I’m not quite sure . However your water can still possibly break on it’s on when you get induced . TMI but when I was having my daughter I was pooping when my water broke lol

I had lots of sex and walking and I was already 3 cm dilated by 37 weeks. Only reason I was induced was because of high blood pressure. But I was induced with pitocin. So my water broke on its own with the iv.
Everyone has been telling me walk, sex, eat eggplant, and someone just told me today to fill the bath tub with baby oil and water of course have someone close by since that’s kind of a slippery task they said it helped their wife.
Really hating today as I get further along in my pregnancy the more angry I get. I have become very resentful of some of my husband's chocies. Anyone else feel this way?

I have a low tolerance of pain so I’m screwed either way 😂 but I am going to get through a natural birth no matter what! Quick question: Are the contractions or pushing the most painful? I’ve felt contractions with my first and omg. But I didn’t experience the pushing. He was way to tiny.

Modesty- Where did it go? There is too much sexy going on! I was incredibly guilty of it in my younger days, too. But as I get older and look at pictures that women are proud of I actually get embarrassed for them. What happened to old fashioned modesty? I change clothes if my v neck t-shirt shows too much! I know my younger self would be laughing at me right now, but I have definitely changed my perspective as I have gotten older and become a mom! Does anyone else feel this way or have I just turned into a crabby old biddy that forgot what it was like to be young?!?!
