One and done???
So my son will be six months in a few days and I am contemplating if I want another baby. I am going to be 32 in a few months so I feel like I don’t have a lot of time to wait if I want a second child. I grew up an only child and always wanted a sibling but on the other hand I don’t know if I have it in me to raise two children. I want my son to have all my love and attention. I am on the fence so I want to hear opinions from both sides. What do you think?
@kristinsilk I just feel so blessed that I became a mother at all, because there was a real possibility that it wasn't going to happen for me.
I will admit that I do worry about her being alone when she's older.. but I know plenty of people that hate their siblings and don't speak to them. There's no guarantee that if I had another child they would even talk to each other when they were adults.
@kelseyp16, I work full time also and we don’t have a lot of money. I know we could make it work with a second but might be a bit tight. I do worry about him being alone and I do know that if we decide to have a second that is it.... no question there!
@laywatz, I had a similar experience. We tried for three years and had one mc. I can’t imagine 7 years. I am worried if I don’t try soon it will be to late. What if it takes three years again? What if I have another mc? I am so happy to have my son and I totally understand how you feel about your daughter.
I'm a one and done mom. My hubby and I tried for 7 years before we were blessed with our daughter. I was 38 when she was born. If I were to have another child I would have to get pregnant tomorrow.
But honestly the thought of going through the whole TTC thing makes my palms sweat. 7 years is a long time to be on an emotional rollercoaster. Don't get me wrong, my daughter was totally worth all of the heartache, but I don't think I have it in me to go through it all again.
Especially since there's no guarantee I would get pregnant or be able to maintain my pregnancy if I did. I suffered through 2 soul crushing miscarriages before our daughter and I don't think I'm strong enough to lose another one of my babies.
So our daughter will be our one and only. Which is completely ok. She will have our undivided attention and love always, and as her parents we will be able to afford to give her more things and put more into her collage fund.
I was very much in a one and done mindset. I work full time and we don't have alot of money and I was worried about sacrificing even more time with my daughter. Then my daughter turned 2 and I started wanting another one. I didn't want her to grow up lonely or be alone if something happened to me and her dad. I am very glad I decided to have one more. I love watching my girls together. But I am 100% done now.
@newlyironman, I agree!
At 6 months I was dead set on having one and done! My son was colic until 6 months and has been a wild child since birth lol. It was a lot to deal with (and still is at times) being a first time mom. I am now thinking about possibly having a second but in like 4 years maybeeee?
@kristinsilk, I get what you’re saying about raising two kids and wanting your son to have all the love and attention. I’m not sure how parents of multiples are able to give each individual attention and juggle everything else at the same time. Seems so overwhelming for me! But I know it’s possible. Talking to other moms will definitely give you some insight on that. But I would take another 6 months to a year before actually deciding if you want another. In the meantime, shower your son with all your love and attention 😊💙
I too am an only child, I always wanted siblings, even now as an adult I wish I had siblings. Which is why I decided to have more than one. I didn't want them growing up lonely like I did.
But the choice is yours.
I wish my SO would agree to have one more. I don't want my daddy to be an only child either. 1, because if I didn't have my sister I would have no family left. And my SO really doesn't have much family either. And all the other kids are grown or live across the country. I don't want her to have no one when we are gone.
I think that siblings are a great experience. I think that at 6mo you're still tired and hormonal and thinking of a second baby is a lot.
Trigger. Lost baby
Went in for my 20 week check up and found out our son had passed away. Nothing was wrong, my pregnancy has been going great. I'm so numb right now. I'll he delivering him later this week. I don't want to do this. I don't want to do this. Not before Christmas. How am I'm going to tell my kids?? My dear sweet baby boy. Why did this happen?
So I'm a bit confused . In a month my child will get three combined vaccines. Are all the vaccines necessary ? Do you vaccinate your kids . I hear of children getting sick or having problems years later or worse ... Death . Which I would never want for my son 😭😪. Voice your opinion.
I Have a question mommies I’m a First Time Mom and everyone keeps saying when my baby get here there gonna take my baby but I don’t trust people like that and I promise I’m not trying to be mean but I don’t want anyone to have a my baby and I know people are going to ask so my question is How do you say no without being mean ?🤔 I don’t even plan on letting my child spend the night with people when he gets older it’s just so much happen to me as a kid and I don’t want that for my baby
My significant other hasn’t been to one appt. am I crazy for being bothered about it? I’m already depressed I’m having another baby. I didn’t even want anymore. I feel like I don’t have the support I need.
I am only 6 months in marriage and everytime My husband and I get into an arguement he always leave, I am not saying leave for a few hours, he pack his stuff and leave....Am I wrong to not keep putting up with it? I have been told I have very thick skin, and I think today was the last straw...I have a 2 year old and is 9 months pregnant..Who want a 3rd child?
I’m an only child. I don’t feel like I’ve missed out on anything. I always thought it would be nice to have a sibling of course, but I’m really close with my parents since it’s always been the three of us. My husband has a brother who has always treated him terribly. I think I’d rather have no sibling than that. You know what you can handle. Don’t feel guilty if having another baby isn’t right for you.
