This is a semi long post but I promise you it’s worth the minute read. I want to talk about the car shades with suction cups.
You should definitely not use them. When I was a baby I pulled a suction cup off of the window shade and it popped open in my mouth and covered my airway. My mom had to pull it out of my mouth because I was suffocating.
They haven’t taken them off the market because my mom called and told the company what happened and the woman on the phone said basically someone has to die for a recall to be made.
We have a car shade that does not have suction cups. They exist and it actually rolls up and down with the window. Pretty cool and significantly safer.
It’s terrifying but we all know babies and kids put everything in their mouth. Don’t let your baby be the reason why suction cup shades finally get recalled. Just don’t use them! 💖🤷🏼♀️

Oh wow, that’s crazy. Sorry u and ur mother had to go through that. I’m glad my van comes with the car shade built in. I most definitely will not ever use those. Gotta watch for the Baby on Board sign too. Cause that has the suction cup on it as well.
@oceanbabe424, me either!! And I think more people should know about the dangers of this. And even the big suction cups you can squeeze and they would fit into a child’s mouth. It’s scary, the things that are meant to be for babies but can be dangerous.
Definitely not throwing shade at anyone, just thought this was funny.

son getting out of car seat
So a couple days ago my son started getting himself out of his car seat while we are on the road. He will be 2 years old May 27th. He pushes the chest clip all the way down and pulls his arms and shoulders out of the straps but is still buckled at the waist. Today he did it 4 times, we had to pull over every time. I got a car seat from a friend and a stroller online the carseat fits in the stroller but the shade won't close :( get a smaller car seat or keep it ?
I am so incredibly grateful for my best friend. Last night she and I were in a car accident. I was driving and we got hit by a student driver. My car is totaled, I had to come out of pocket for a rental car. Both of my kids car seats were in the car and I’ve been stressing on how to buy new seats for them, she just told me that her and her husband bought us new car seats. I can’t stop crying.
