low sperm motility
Sorry if it double posted. I posted in ttc as well.
I dont know if its the day or that im alone thus year or what but... I guess its just bad baby fever.
I just didnt realize how much i want another baby until finding out it might not happen.
Well he had one several years ago. That's where he found out about the low motility. He's so blasse about it though. He says kids probably wont happen for him and hes fine with that. I'm not . Its not a huge issue now but... i know i want at least one more.
My bil had the same issue also he had a lot of irregular sperm. His wife my sil also has PCOS they could not get pregnant for almost 2 years. They had to go thru IVF and ended up getting pregnant with twins. She had 2 eggs transferred. He should get his sperm checked if u really want to have children. It really depends on how serious u are about having a baby at this time
I would be ok if we did get pregnant. So would he but no we aren't trying. Im just a thinker. What if we do want children. I dont know that we coukd afford fertility treatment or if hed even want to.
Low motility doesn't make you infertile. Just makes it harder for you to get pregnant.
My hubby has low motility and we were unable to concieve for 9 years naturally before we figured out why. We had to do IVF.
Even if your SO concieves once does not mean he has a higher chance of concieving another. But it goes the other way too. Just because he has low motility doesn't mean you can't get pregnant. Its an odds game. And the odds are a little against you getting pregnant. But its not 100 percent.
If you are not trying for one you may want to get on bc just in case.
If you don't want to get pregnant then yes, you should be on a birth control. I'm sitting proof that your "infertility" isn't birth control. 24 weeks to be exacted. We had sperm issues as well at non regular periods for me. The sperm issues was count on the lower side of normal and lower side of normal on the motility as well. Took us 3 years of trying to have my son. It only took a few months of a regular period after I finished breastfeeding my son to get pregnant again. We weren't trying but we weren't preventing either because we thought it wouldn't happen again. Long story short... yes get on some form of birth control if you don't want anymore kids at the moment. Lol
My husband has low motility (movement in the right direction), low volume (not much fluid per ejaculation), low morphology (not many sperm shaped correctly) and low sperm count (not many sperm per ml of semen). I have fibroids, the largest of which were surgically removed. We unsuccessfully tried to conceive for 6 years then had ivf with icsi (where they inject the egg with a sperm as opposed to just letting them fertilise in a dish). We conceived my son on our second round.
I tell you this because despite all of this we naturally fell pregnant when my son was a year old (unfortunately miscarried). Any unprotected sex can lead to pregnancy, if you don't want a baby you should be using birth control.
I also have a friend who was told she would never conceive naturally because her tubes were completely blocked, she had a failed round of ivf then fell pregnant naturally.
My best friend was told at 21 that she would never conceive naturally due to severe pcos. She has 2 children she conceived naturally.
The other thing is that sperm changes over time, so if your partner hasn't had a recent check the situation could be different now.
Do you think since he has conceived a child naturally before, he could again?
First of all, if you guys are not currently ttc then yes you should be using some form of contraception unless you're perfectly fine with falling pregnant unexpectedly! As for your other question, sperm mobility refers to the ability for a man's sperm to swim properly. If his sperm mobility is low you may very well have trouble naturally conceiving in the future. However, it could be that it just takes you a bit longer and you won't even need to see a fertility specialist, really depends on the severity and his specific situation. Hope that helps!
I would like another child eventually. He is neutral. He did conceive a child with someone else years ago but unfortunately he passed away.
Have no idea so initially I skipped past... but seeing as you're desperate, I googled it.
"Fertility will be less likely without ICSI as more of these parameters are abnormal - and the more severely abnormal they are. Sperm insemination treatment can be successful for male infertility cases when the motility is at least 30% and the total motile sperm count is above 5 million."

A new post for katie058 and hopefully bcappel soontoo, as ours got too long!
GENDER POST! ??????
Alright mommas for everyone whose going to be finding out gender sometime in November or later..lets get a post going and keep each other updated. And for everyone who has already found out post below what you thought you were going to have and what you are actually having! ?
@rochellelovesherkids2018, at it again with the fake posts 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
We paid over 20k. Probably closer to 30k. But that is because we had failed a few times. I think the average is 14k for one or 2 cycles. Problem is, if the egg doesn't stick then you end up having to do more cycles.
Even if you guys are not ttc now, he needs to get checked, for the future. Alot of times sperm can be fixed. My husband had a varicose vein that had affected his morphology. He fixed the vein, which fixed the shape. (it was covered by insurance). His motility was an issue, but he made it better by certain vitamins and diet. If his motility is still poor, then you may require ivf with icsi.
But there are also alot of great stories where people managed to naturally concieve. After 9 years we knew we were in trouble and needed help.
I wish the best for you if you guys try in the future. Infertility can become a very difficult journey, with some heartbreak.
