Bad Mother?
So for the last five days this is what Ive been hearing from my family.
You are not a bad mom!! Please don't think that, if you were a bad mom your son wouldn't be following you all the time! He's only a little over a year, it's perfectly normal for him to only want you. I don't have much to offer than trying to stay out of the house as much as possible. Walks, parks, libraries usually have a kid area with toys. I'm so sorry you have to go through all this and I hope things get better soon. I think your son may not be responding to your family well because he can sense how stressed and upset they make you. Hang in there, things will get better.
Yeah Hun it sucks I been in that situation. And the best thing I did for everyone was go into a shelter. I had the option to go to school or work. I went to work and they got me a day care voucher for my daughter. Then I was still able to receive wic, food stamps, and cash help until I was done with school. And I moved into my own place. I promise if you can get out the house you and your mom will be closer then ever and your son will get more comfortable being around them. He also might not want to go to them cause he sees them yelling and getting upset.
I just want her to stop.being so nasty. To be honest I was shocked at the way she's been yelling at me and talking to me.
On Monday, I'm going to call around and look for a shelter. This is ruining our relationship.
Aww girl he will get over it. He is just at the age where he just finds comfort in you. As for your mom she has to understand he is a child and he just wants to be under his mom.
Is there any emergency shelters you can go to? I know you might be able to get assistance faster if you are out of your moms. Cause in some states they don't really want to help if you still live with your parents.
I creeped on your posts to find his age. He's a year old. They're acting as if you're constantly coddling your 20 year old son?. My 3 year old still prefers to stick around me as opposed to anyone else and they don't make a big deal about it. Maybe he wants nothing to do with them because he can sense their attitude towards him and yourself?. He's definitely not spoiled just because he loves to be held by you. What ridiculous people? My youngest will be 1 next month and he also prefers me to anybody else. It's not weird and it's definitely not spoiling. You keep holding and loving that baby and just ignore them.
He will outgrow it naturally. At that age separation anxiety from his mother is normal. They will need to just be patient, kind and loving with him and he will warm up. I am not one who believes in forcing a child to be affectionate with others. I encourage them to create bonds with other relatives, but I respect their timing.
And I'm looking for work daily. I just feel like I can't win. I thought things would be better when we got away from los dad.
I feel so down because I feel like i made a mistake leaving even though he's been hurting me for years.
He's 14 mos. The biggest problem is they try to force themselves on him and then get hurt when he cries.
My mom has just been soo nasty to me today.
How old is he again? Sadly at least here you in CA you cant get daycare unless you have a job first. Or I was told that. If he is older maybe take him on walks? Also if he is a baby when my son cried a lot I put him in the stroller and walked around the block. He might just be bored.
I just wanted to say that my heart hurts for you. I wish she'd stop being so nasty too. Sometimes we need to consider distancing ourselves, or letting go of relationships that don't help us build and grow. It is easier said than done, but you deserve happiness, love and support. You are not a bad mom or any of the hurtful labels that woman is trying to slap on you. Remember that you are an exquisite woman that is trying her best, and to your little guy, you're the whole world. ?
