I do think you have to be logical about who you surround yourself with like kms said but, I just feel for some of us it doesn't happen for whatever reason. We don't find that dream guy.
I don't think it's dead at all. My 18 year marriage can attest to that and we are looking forward to how ever many years that we have left on this earth together. I give all the credit to God. My husband and I are equally yoked and God is the very center of our marriage and family. If it wasn't for our love, faith and devotion in him whom created marriage my husband and I probably would not be together. We are so very grateful and blessed.
Yes! It's dead. Gone. Forget it. I don't believe that humans were wired to be monogamous. Every relationship I've ever been in, he cheated. I've just come to accept that it's just the way it is.
It's either that or I'm a really s*** ty woman. I don't think I'm that bad lol. I'm a little needy sometimes attention wise but not that bad! So idk if it's me or what ?
Do you think everyone commits some form of adultery? Mental, emotional, physical?
Eta yes, not just monogamy but honesty, transparency.
monogamy =/= being faithful.
i think of monogamy in terms of being as opposed to polygamy. it's about the number of partners you think each person should have. honesty doesn't factor here. so no, monogamy is very much alive.
whereas cheating is about dishonesty as opposed to honesty.
i think you mean to ask "is honesty in romantic relationships dead" more than "is monogamy dead". but my answer to that is also no.
I don't want to be crass but I do feel strongly that monogamy is dead or close. I feel, and maybe it's just me but I just don't have a lot of faith in true love or monogamy or certain things that I've looked for in life.
I do believe in the love between parents and children and Creator and creation.
As far as monogamy I've never met a man who hadn't been unfaithful and I've always experienced and feared cheating.
Monogamy isn't for everyone. It's not gone it's just not for everyone. Cheaters don't count. Two consenting adults who have discussed and agreed upon terms about being open to others(however they see fit) can certainly have a happy healthy relationship full of love and commitment as long as they communicate properly.
Sometimes I think so. It really depends on how the individual was raised, their environment and who they surround themselves with. This isn't always true but if someone has nothing but cheating lying friends, it is easy to be influenced by that kind of ugly mentality and behavior because it can seem normal.
It probably also depends on what part of the world you live in. This isn't always the case but it could play a role in cheating. i feel like If you live in a urban city that has a pretty big night life scene going on, then it's probably easier for people not too commit to one person or not want to settle at all if they live in a city that is all about the party life style. In the end it really all comes down to the persons morals and how they were raised because if they have a good head on their shoulders, any temptation they will be smart enough to turn down.
Def not! I know a lot of people say this but I can honestly say with 100% certainty that if he had to lay down his life for me or the kids, he would do it. He is honest and hardworking. He would literally do anything for us. I would never in a million years think he would ever cheat. We've been together 9 years and it has never crossed my mind. I wish every women had a man like him!
No it's not. But impulse control and personal responsibility are severely lacking in more and more adults these days.
