It can. But if you rinse it in cold water and pre treat with detergent it should come out

My son ate a strawberry and got messy . When I washed it there wasn’t any stain.

This stuff works wonders for baby stains!! She stained her coming home outfit in meconium and I couldn't get it out no matter what I used. About 3 weeks after the stain happened I bought this and used it once and the stain dissappeared. It's fairly cheap too
