I was wondering the same thing! I can never get my kick counts in cause she'll move and it causes pain and it just stops and she'll go again hours later

@lorany, my doctor said twice a day I should be having 6 kicks in an hour.

Basically you want to do them when you have a little while to relax. Eat something, drink something cold and try to feel baby move. even if it’s soft I counted it. It’s just you wouldn’t want to feel a complete lack of movement, then something is wrong.

@princessrose, I never actually understood kick counts. My ob has told me as long as I get 10 kicks in 2 hours she’s fine.

You still want to do your kick counts. It’s not normal for baby to go long periods with little to no movement.

@lorany, I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing, she’s probably trying to get out!

@leslyev92, yeah her movement hurts a lot. She’s just been very active recently I’m not sure how or why

I felt like my baby was active less often as I got closer to DD but when she was active she def made up for it. & they started to be a bit more painful.
