So I have had a thigh tattoo for almost 4 years. And now as having an allergy or reaction to some ink in it while pregnant. There are lots of bumps and raised areas. Anyone else have this? Should I contact my dr or my tattoo artist? I already have steroid cream. I’m just debating putting it on it. I don’t want to ruin this tattoo. It cost $1500. 😬

My boyfriend is a tattoo artist, I asked him what he thought and he says it's not an allergic reaction but more like a stretched out scar because that's basically what a tattoo is, a colored scar. You can try cocoa butter to help it but there's not much that can be done

@ladyblauvelt.skysmomma, that makes sense. Because it’s only in the black ink which was done first then I had 2 more sessions of color. I really appreciate you asking him! I’m defiantly going to do that.

@bcsweetie, unfortunately I am. I have had rash issues this whole pregnancy. I itch a spot and welts appear. It started just my legs but now it’s also my stomach and sometimes my head. It’s awful. They said it’s just hormone induced. I can’t wait until this goes away. But unfortunately they said it may be after I have him for it to go away. Some nights I have to take Benadryl just to sleep.

@tiera_shaye your welcome. Unfortunately it sounds like the tattoo artist may have gone too deep with the black which can also cause that when the skin stretches. Just keep putting lotion on it and hopefully it'll help save the tattoo a bit
