Did anyone have their membranes stripped a little over 38 weeks? What was your experience? How dilated were you prior to…

I did at 40+2 and went into labor right away. My baby was born 5 hours after.

@bcsweetie I'm trying for my first vbac that's why I was trying to get everyone's input. I'm only 1cm as of two weeks ago so wasn't sure if it was an option or not. Lol

I did. Had my baby girl within like 16-18 hours. But I was only in active labor for 2 hours

My doctor stripped mine cause I was over 38 weeks and me had had several trips to the hospital so baby and body were ready. A day or maybe two after my water broke !best experience yet

I was 2 cm dilated at my 39 week appt (I was 39 weeks 4 days). My OB stripped my membranes because she said she could tell both my body and my baby were ready. My contractions started about an hour later when I was at work. 15 hours later and my son was born.

I had two done between 38 1/2 weeks to 41 weeks. The first one, made my mucus plug finally fall out, and the second one I went into labor a day after I had it; 2 days before my induction date. I stayed at a 1 for 3 weeks. My body actually didn’t dilate, until they gave me oxytocin. They were okay, really uncomfortable and they hurt during the process. Just make sure you are relaxed and you relax your pelvic muscles, I was a little sore for a couple days. But the second one finally pushed my daughter to come out of her hiding spot lol.

I didn’t. I never let the doctor near my cervix until I’m in active labor.
