Ladies how long is fresh pumped breast milk good for in the room temperature? And how long after given to baby ?
@salogogo, heating is only once yes. But if I pump and she only drinks half, I will put it in the fridge for the next feeding. Breast milk is different than formula in the sense that it has antibodies in it and doesn’t get contaminated as much as formula does. Idr the exact science behind it, but I haven’t had issues. Just throw it out after that.
ETA: I still go by the 6 hr rule. So if you pump and put it back in the fridge say it was out 2 hrs, after you heat it for the next feeding if she doesn’t finish it in 3-4 hours, toss it.
@glencoco, i just cant remember with my daughter i was told i had to disregard after baby drank from the bottle in couple hours i just don’t remember how long it was . And i think heating up is only once
@glencoco, thanks
