@tyshaijames2018, our little miracles will be fine. They’re here for a reason clearly and we get to witness greatness.

@tyshaijames2018, work with him now and it may not even be noticeable by the time school starts. Many of our friends and even family don’t even know because of our work with him. I have the same fear, but we teach him to cope and process.

@pnkbuttaflies, he’s sensitive to certain noises- mostly motor hums: vacuums, fans, vents in the car, etc. when he’s overstimulated, he’s also sensitive to smells. He constantly is on the go and climbing, can’t sit still- but much of the time needs to be upside down or spinning. He gets overly hyper and giggly when over stimulated as well. And clutzy. A lot of this is toddler behavior, but you can see the difference between it usually. It goes to more of an extreme. ADHD and Autism have already been ruled out for my kiddo as well, so we know it’s sensory overload.

@laniejay, yes I know I can handle anything but my main concern is when he starts school and he has a hard time kids can be mean and they love to bully

@tyshaijames2018, I have a bit of a different perspective, but I’m glad it’s something we can tackle rather than being worried. He wasn’t supposed to live at all, but he’s here and healthy. If SPD is all we have going on, we’ve got this. It’s something you have to work with, but you can work through it. You’ve got this, you’re on the right path already identifying and getting help.

My 4 yr old is a sensory seeker and has SPD. He has some hypersensitivity, but mostly hyposensitivity. We are currently on an 8 month waiting list for a full neurological workup at children’s hospital, but are working with private OTs in the mean time.
